Mundelein High School IHSA Dance Sectional January 20 th, 2018 Dancers, Coaches and Fans- On behalf of Mundelein High School we would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to Mundelein for the IHSA Sectional Competitive Dance Competition scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2018. We take great pride in hosting IHSA events and will work hard to ensure that your competitive experience is outstanding. Below are some important locations and information that you will want to take note of: List of Participants due 1/8/18 Directions: We are located on the corner of Hawley and Midlothian, 1350 W Hawley St. Mundelein, IL 60060 if using Map-quest for driving directions. The doors will open to spectators at 9:00 a.m. Admission is $5.00 for all day (child in arms will be free). The spectator entrance is located to right inside the main entrance doors in the front of the school. Spectator parking see page 5 Digital tickets will be available at the door or online https://gofan.co/app/school/il15597 through Go Fan.com. Official pass list guests will need to enter at the Spectator Entrance. Teams may arrive any time after 8:00 am. We will have someone located at the team entrance doorway all day to register teams. There will be signage throughout the parking lot directing team buses to the team entrance. ALL BUSES will drop off their respective teams and will be directed to park at either Carl Sandburg Middle School or Mechanics Grove Grade School, see page 6. Coaches meetings will be held in the Media Center (which is located directly upstairs from the main entrance of the school) Approx. Coaches meeting times 2A-9:15 AM 3A-11:15 AM 3A-Section 2-1:15 PM The general holding area for competing dancers will be in assigned classrooms. (Please note coaches and dancers only will be allowed in the classroom areas). No food or drink will be allowed in the classroom areas. Teams will be responsible for any damage to their assigned classroom. Please dispose of all garbage in the garbage bag provided. Do not throw garbage into the recycle bins. Page 1 of 6

The warm-up and stretching areas will be in the North Gym. Each team will be allowed in the stretching area for 7 minutes and will warm up on the full gym floor for 7 minutes as listed on the IHSA time schedule. (Please note coaches and dancers only will be allowed in the warm-up area). No food or drink will be allowed in the warm-up area. Awards presentations will be conducted in the competition gym after each division performs. The announcement of awards and teams advancing to the State Finals will take place at each Sectional site at the conclusion of each Division. Exit packets can be picked up at the team entrance/exit by the cafeteria doors. All paid spectator seating will be on either side of the main gymnasium. The competition will also live stream in both the cafeteria and auditorium. Saving seats is not permitted. For the safety of all participants, flash photography will not be allowed in the performance gym. Mundelein High School will be providing a concession stand throughout the day. Outside food and drink is prohibited. IHSA t-shirts and hoodies will both be available for purchase through pre sale. A limited amount of will be available on site. It is recommended to pre-order. See page 4 Dancers will be responsible for their personal bags and valuables at all times. Mundelein High School will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items. There will be an athletic trainer available. Please bring your own supplies if you know you have an athlete that will need to be taped. Please complete and submit the Competitive Dance Pass Gate list before Wednesday, January 17 th to drisdon@d120.org or fax: 847-949-0079 Performance times and warm-up schedules will be posted to the IHSA site. The Mundelein Dance program is running a Food Drive. See page 3. We hope this day is rewarding for all student-athletes competing. It is our pleasure to share our school with you for this event. To make this competition a winning experience for all, the staff counts on all guests to support their schools with outstanding sportsmanship.
