Provincials #1- SS & HP January 19-21, 2018 At WinSports Canada Olympic Park Freestyle Alberta invites athletes, coaches and Freestyle Family to attend the first SS & HP Provincial Competition on January 19-21, 2018 in Calgary at the Canada Olympic Park. This event will be held over the weekend with an official training day on Friday. The Slope Competition will be held on the West Line on Sunday and the Halfpipe Training will be on Saturday morning with Competition in the early evening on Saturday. Fees & Deposits: Entry Fee 2 Event - $160.00 Bib Deposit: $20.00 Cash Deposit per bib Lift Tickets: Spectators: Age Categories: Athlete Bios: Lift tickets will be available for purchase each day of training and competition at Guest services with presentation of competitor bib, cost is $25+ GST. Each competitor is responsible for the purchase of his or her own lift ticket for each day of the event. Coach lift tickets are complimentary and will be available for pick up at the Race Office in the Theatre across form the Trampoline in the Frank King Day Lodge. Foot passes must be obtained from the Registration desk on the day of event. According to the birth year as of January 1st, 2018, all athletes will compete in the age categories of U20, U18, U16, or U14. Under age athletes will compete in the U14 category. U20 Athletes born in 1998 or 1999 U16 Athletes born in 2002 or 2003 U18 Athletes born in 2000 or 2001 U14 Athletes born in 2004 (or later) Athlete Bios are mandatory at Registration. No bio=no bib!
Rules: These events are sanctioned by Freestyle Canada and organized by Freestyle Alberta in partnership with WinSports Canada Olympic Park Eligibility AFSA s provincial selection criteria applies for this provincial level competition. All athletes must have a FC certified Coach present with Aerial Passports readily available to present to the Event Jury. Qualification is required for all inverted maneuvers Liability: All athletes, officials, organizers and other members of the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association who attend and participate in the event shall do so at their own risk. WinSports Canada Olympic Park, the Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association and any Sponsors, shall not be responsible for any issue with the organisation or staging of the event. Athletes MUST be registered as current FC members. Accident Insurance: Every competitor should have his/her own medical insurance. The Alberta Freestyle Skiing Association, any sponsors, and the Winsports Canada Olympic Park decline any responsibility for accidents, damaged equipment and second and third party claims during the staging of the event. Volunteers should be registered as current FC associate or officials/judges membership for insurance Refunds: Once an athlete is confirmed on a start list, refunds will not be issued. In the case of an injury the coach or parent must notify the registration desk, or hello@freestylealberta.ski to inform that an athlete is injured and unable to ski before the team captains meeting the day before the competition day. Athletes are entitled to partial refunds of up to 50% per event. Requests for refunds for other extraordinary circumstances shall be considered only at the discretion of the Organizing Committee. If an event is cancelled due to weather or exceptional circumstances no refunds will be provided.
