Gentleman s League Has Lunch With Dr. Strickland JMS was delighted to have Dr. Strickland join Johnakin s Gentleman s League for lunch last week. The young men dressed for success and enjoyed talking with him about our school. They showed him our Butterfly Garden, which they are in the process of renovating. They have pulled weeds, spread out straw, and cleaned the area which is a popular spot for classes to visit and read during this beautiful weather. They are soliciting donations to make picnic tables. If you are interested in helping, please contact Mr. Leroy Bell, their Sponsor, at 843-423-8360. Thank you, Dr. Strickland, for having lunch and spending time with our students! October 5-9 was South Carolina s Metric Week. To celebrate, the 8th grade Math classes took measurements of their bodies in inches and then converted their measurements into cen#meters. Once this was completed students created mini versions of themselves in skeleton form. The skeletons are now hanging in the classrooms and will soon make their way to other areas for a visit for special events. So don t be surprised if a skeleton pops up around you. Mrs. Grover and Mrs. Rowell are our 8th Grade math teachers.
