JUNIOR ACADEMY OVERVIEW Progressing Juniors towards Golfing Excellence The DiscoverGolf junior golf academy at Bittersweet Golf Course has one priority: to create a learning environment that supports junior golf as an accessible and rewarding outlet for juniors of all ages, ability level, and background. Emboldened by a training philosophy that utilizes insights from current motor learning research, developmental psychology, and game design, our staff of experienced and passionate junior golf specialists is excited to bring a year-round set of programming unlike any other. Combining the DiscoverGolf Academy with some of the best practice facilities in the state of Illinois it is fair to say that the sky is the limit in 2018! PLAYING COACHING PRACTICING GOLF MATCHES Weekly opportunity to introduce your junior to playing golf in a competitive environment. Great experience for all skill level and ages. ALPHA JUNIOR GOLF TOUR Our most experienced juniors will be invited to join the travel team and compete against other Academy locations in weekly matches. ACADEMY CLASSES Juniors progress through the DIscoverGolf 40 Level Learning System through weekly group training. PRIVATE LESSONS Private Lessons are a great addition to the weekly academy classes. Coaches provide customized instruction for your junior golfer. SUPERVISED PRACTICE Supervised Practice is the study hall for our academy classes. The juniors will learn to apply what they are learning through practice. 24/ 7 DISCOVERY The DiscoverGolf app serves as the ultimate companion for productive out of class practice sessions. COACHING PLAYING PRACTICING DiscoverGolf- After School Golf Modern Instruction for the modern player The 2 hours of After School Golf are best described as a supercharged golf experience. Juniors learn through deep engagement on skill building challenges and games. Under the watchful eye of our coaching staff our students learning never stops as students will make their way through meticulously designed instruction stations. Our players learn through doing and will find themselves extremely active throughout the many on course and practice area stations.. It is during these classes the juniors learn the game and are challenged in a group environment as they progress through the DiscoverGolf 40- Level Learning System. DiscoverGolf programs at Butterfield GC (Oak Brook, IL) and Deerpath GC (Lake Forest, IL) serve as the training ground to many of the contributing varsity members to the 2 top high school teams in the state. Delivered by an experienced coaching staff comprised of former professional players the Team 180 program offers an intense coaching plan that sets forth to create competitive golf champions. Summer fun with friends never stops as campers rotate between game improvement "stations", that feature coaching themes and challenges revolving around golf's fundamentals. Your junior's game will undergo an extreme transformation under the watchful eye and guidance of our industry-leading coaching staff. Our team works exclusively with junior golfers and is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced in the country. Each enrollee will gain login access to their own profile on our application, DiscoverGolf (available on ios). Private Lessons can be an essential piece of a juniors development. The golf swing is a very complex motor pattern, and private lessons can give the coach one on one time to reinforce what material presented in class or to cover a new area. The coaches can then provide additional feedback during the weekly classes and supervised practice as well that supplement the private lessons. 2018 SCHEDULE COACHING PLAYING PRACTICING (Ages 7-18) Experiencing the game through friendly competition The Alpha Junior Golf Tour, in its 7th season, will set a weekly stage to help our juniors showcase their skills while enjoying the game through friendly competition. Our academy members will have an opportunity to make their six-person teams ahead of the season's first event. Each event will then consist of a six-player team competition as well as distinctions to the top 3 individuals. Juniors will compete in 9 Hole Matches Teams of 6 with top 4 scores counting towards overall score Each event will award low team and low individual. 24/ 7 Discovery Unprecedented Coaching Support Acquiring the skills necessary to play golf is a process that requires both the guidance of an expert coach and dedicated, focused resolve of the student. To bridge this divide we created the DiscoverGolf app, an interactive coaching portal that allows our staff and student to collaborate on the exact procedures and protocols necessary for achieving short and long-term goals. SUPERVISED PRACTICE Golf's Study Hall The foundation of the DiscoverGolf training system is the education and golf development that our students gain through their weekly group training sessions. However, to best augment these effects we offer supervised practice as a compliment to many of our programs to assist our juniors cement concepts learned during more formal training sessions. "Learning how to learn" i.e., understanding how to create effective self-learning conditions is a foundational concept within our curriculum and something we can address with the task constraints of our supervised training sessions. ** Exact dates/ times of 2018 Supervised Practice Sessions TBD** For the 2018 season, we will be extending these concepts one step further by having the practice environment (driving range, putting green, and short game) dynamically evolving to meet the specific requirements of coach prescribed games/ drills/ challenges. Learning System "Leveling Up" the junior golf world 1 2 3 1 How does it work? DiscoverGolf is a 40 level progression through golf's eight core skills. Once logged in, your homepage will show your position relative to Level 40 graduation and the activity of your peer group. 4 2 The progression metrics of DiscoverGolf are XP and Goal Points. Points are earned through completed challenges and assignments in and out of class challenges and tasks. 3 Students will create unique level experiences by selecting a combination of predefined and independent goals. Goals are further narrowed by their "process" or "outcome" classification. 5 6 4 5 6 The coach- student collaboration is at the heart of DiscoverGolf. Every student will have custom challenges sent to their account that address the goals they have selected and the finer details of specific coaching interventions. The DiscoverGolf app is the ultimate communication platform between coach and student. Parents can keep up with all of the action with their own account!

Feature Spotlight A closer look at some our favorite features Bat t le Zone Our Battlezone feature allows our students to challenge and accept on course ' battles', which consist of 1, 3, 9, 18 hole matches. Battlezone results are chronicled on the app and are eligible for player's weekly/ monthly goals. For juniors looking to 'cut their teeth' for competitive golf, this is an incredibly effective tool! Par Pursuit We start our junior golfers at the green and work our way back! While playing Par Pursuit, a score of 4 "or par" will move you back 20 yards from the green. Semester-long results are showcased on the app as the race for longest par rages on! We communicate results with parents to make sure families can help set appropriate tee lengths for their junior player. Cust om Challenges The message to our junior athletes is clear: take ownership of your improvement journey! With our custom challenge builder our students can make their own games, submit them to the improvement community and have them integrated into their curriculum.
