PISTOL (PPC) - Page 2 NOTES: In the 1500 and Distinguished Match, competitors can shoot both gun classes, revolver and semi-automatic. Competitors must shoot Individual PPC Event to be eligible to shoot the Distinguished Match. Competitors shooting in the Classified Class of the individual event will receive a temporary classification that will be used if they are also competing in the Distinguished Match event. For all Team events, competitors must shoot the Individual event to be eligible to participate in the team event. For Team events, competitors may enter either the 2-person or the 4-person team events, but not both. OFFICIALS Sports Coordinator Range Master Match Referee A minimum Board of three (3) NRA officials, usually they are the Range Master and members of the range/club being used. PERSONNEL Line Judges as per NRA rules and regulations Three (3) to Five (5) Target Pullers Two (2) to Three (3) Score Recorders/Posters Two (2) to Four (4) Registration/Check-in workers Two (2) to Three (3) Runners where needed NOTE: The number of line judges, pullers, scorers, runners, registration workers, and relief personnel will increase with the size of the match. The above list is for a match of approximately 200 shooters. MEDICAL Basic medical supplies, such as a first aid kit will be provided at each venue. Communications shall be available at each venue and preparations made in case it is necessary to summon emergency services. FACILITY A NRA approved Police Pistol Combat (PPC) Range, see NRA rule 6.0. The Range should have a minimum of twelve (12) lanes to handle 200 shooters. The Range is needed for three (3) consecutive days. EQUIPMENT Check-in Area: Score Cards: Scoreboard: For the shooters to check-in prior to competing and verifying their Classifications. Check NRA Rules for these cards. Place this Board in a location where competitors can view their posted scores.

PISTOL (PPC) - Page 3 Scoring Area: Other Items Needed: This area must be restricted from competitors and outside distractions. Pencils, chalk and grease pens for scorers, red flags for linesmen, ear protection for workers on or near the line, pocket calculators (2-4), misc. size file bins, and any other items as specified by NRA Rules. TARGETS NRA approved Targets only. The Target used is a B-27. GENERAL SPORTS RULES for PPC Pistol Where conflicts between NRA rules and USPFC rules occur (i.e. awards formula and eligibility of competitors), always use USPFC rules. (See General Sports Rules.) The Pistol event will be held either Wednesday, Thursday and Friday or Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Recommendation: The Sport Coordinator should try and attend at least two (2) or three (3) NRA matches prior to the Games to make contacts and to see how the match is presented. CLASSIFICATION Participants will be classified using their previous performance in the USPFC, related events, or by their NRA classification. If there is a difference in classifications, between USPFC and NRA, the higher classification will be used. NRA classification rules and scores will be used. High Master - 1485-1500 Master - 1472-1484 Expert - 1452-1471 Sharpshooter - 1405-1451 Marksman - 1351-1404 Classified - 1350 & below Unclassified Competitor - Any competitor who has not previously shot in a USPFC, or related event, and does not have a current NRA Action Pistol Classification, or Rimfire Action Pistol Competition either regular or temporary by Score Record Book nor an "Assigned Classification" will receive a temporary classification following their first 1500 match and will then be assigned a classification. This classification will be used in the current match and for any subsequent matches until such time as they obtain an NRA classification or a higher USPFC classification. WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION FOR MATCH: Weapons: Ammunition: Revolver (Must be.38 Cal or larger) and Semi-Automatics (Must be 9mm or larger) as specified in NRA rules. Ammunition specified in NRA rules.

Match #1 7 Yards Standing without support, double action - 12 shots within 20 seconds Match #1 15 Yards Standing without support, double action - 12 shots within 20 seconds Match #2 25 Yards Kneeling - 6 shots, standing behind barricade left hand - 6 shots, right hand barricade - 6 shots, all double action within 90 seconds Match #3 50 Yards Sitting - 6 shots, prone - 6 shots, standing behind barricade left hand - 6 shots, right hand barricade - 6 shots, all either single or double action and within 2 minutes and 45 seconds Match #4 25 Yards Standing without support, double action - 12 shots within 35 seconds Match #4 25 Yards Repeat again, standing without support, double action - 12 shots within 35 seconds Total Rounds Shot in Matches #1 through #4 is 90 shots. Match #5 7 Yards Standing without support, double action - 12 shots within 20 seconds Match #5 25 Yards Kneeling - 6 shots, standing behind barricade left hand - 6 shots, right hand barricade - 6 shots, all double action within 90 seconds Match #5 50 Yards Sitting - 6 shots, prone - 6 shots, standing behind barricade left hand - 6 shots, either single or double action and all within 2 minutes and 45 seconds Match #5 25 Yards Standing without support, double action - 6 shots within 12 seconds Total Rounds Shot in Match #5 is 60 Shots. Total Course of Fire for Matches 1 through 5 is 150 Rounds, for a total possible score of 1,500 points. PPC TEAM EVENT COURSE OF FIRE The Team event score is the total of the individual scores of the team members who shoot Match #5 (National Police Course). Each team member can shoot a possible total of 600 points for a possible team score of 1,200 in the 2-Person Team event and 2,400 points in the 4-Person Team event. NRA POLICE DISTINGUISHED MATCH COURSE OF FIRE The Distinguished Police Match is the 60 round NRA National Police Course, except that the weapons used are non-modified (basically that means a standard unaltered factory produced weapon). The only modification allowed will be grips, see NRA rules. Competitors can shoot both gun classes, revolver and semi-automatic. Competitors must shoot Individual PPC Event to be eligible to shoot the Distinguished Match. Ammunition for revolvers and semi-automatics must meet NRA specifications.

PISTOL (PPC) - Page 5 SERVICE GUN MATCH Revolver and Semi-Auto: An aggregate of the following stages, with a total possible score of 480 points. Stage 1: At 3 yards, 6 shots double action one hand from standing without support position in 8 seconds. Stage 2: At 7 yards, 12 shots double action, one or two hands, from standing without support position. Time limit is 20 seconds, including time to reload. Stage 3: At 15 yards, 12 shots double action, one or two hands, from standing without support position. Time limit is 20 seconds, including time to reload. Stage 4: At 25 yards, double action, one or two hands; 6 shots kneeling, using the barricade for cover and support; 6 shots standing left hand from behind the barricade; and 6 shots standing right hand from behind the barricade. Time limit is 90 seconds, including time to reload. Service Gun Teams The score from the Individual Service Gun Event will be used as that participant s Team score. Pick-up Teams will be allowed, however, all Team members must be declared prior to any member of that Team firing a round of ammunition. Stock Service Revolver: A factory manufactured (catalog item) revolver capable of chambering and firing.38 Special ammunition. If the trigger is capable of single action it must be capable of lifting 2.5 pounds when gun is cocked for single action firing. Allowed: 1. Barrel length up to 4 inches. 2. The front sight being a ramp or post as sold by the manufacturer of the firearm. 3. Replacement of service type sights with other service type sights, luminescent service sights, or fiber optic service sights. 4. Chamfered cylinders. Prohibited: 1. Weighted grips or grip panels. 2. Adjustable front sight. 3. Trigger shoes. 4. External trigger stops. 5. Trigger modification as to length, width, or grooves. 6. Tape on the stock/grip. 7. Thumb rest. 8. Any substance that results in a sticky surface to the stock/grip or hand. 9. Grips/Stocks that when measured from side-to-side at the base are greater than 1 ¾ inches in thickness (1.75 ). Stock Semi-Automatic Pistol: Factory manufactured (catalog item), center fire semi-automatic pistol capable of chambering and firing.35 caliber or larger ammunition. All double action semi-

PISTOL (PPC) - Page 6 automatic pistols must fire the first shot of every stage double action. Trigger pull not less than 3.5 pounds single or double action. Allowed: 1. Maximum barrel length of 5.5 inches. 2. Any accessories, parts, and components which are manufactured to duplicate, in materials and dimensions, the original as offered by the manufacturer. 3. Replacement of service type sights with other service type sights, luminescent service sights, or fiber optic service sights. 4. Maximum sight radius of 7.5 inches. 5. Finger grove and slip on grips. 6. Magazine bumper pad. 7. Extended magazine well funnel. Prohibited: 1. Adjustable front sight. 2. Thumb rest. 3. Grips/stocks that are flared at the base. 4. Tape on the grip/stock. 5. Any substance that results in a sticky Surface to the grip/stock or hand. 6. Full-length Bo-mar type ribs on the slide. 7. Weighted grips or grip panels. 8. Trigger shoes. 9. External trigger stops. RESULTS TO USPFC DIRECTOR FOR PISTOL The SCORES OF ALL INDIVIDUAL EVENT(S) COMPETITORS ARE KEPT by the USPFC for data entry into the Classification computer program used from Games to Games. The Sport Coordinator shall be responsible for the MANDATORY SUBMISSION of all Individual event(s) scores in this sport to the USPFC Director for Pistol (PPC). This should be done immediately upon the conclusion of the sport, and in no case later than 14 days after the conclusion of the Games.

PISTOL (PPC) - Page 7 AWARDS A maximum of eighty-eight (176) sets of medals (1 st through 3 rd place) will be required. USPFC will advise you of the number of sets needed based on total entries, plus a reasonable margin. ATTENTION COORDINATORS THE GENERAL RULES APPLY TO ALL SPORTS. YOU MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH ITS CONTENTS. PRECISE RESULTS MUST BE FORWARDED TO THE HOST COMMITTEE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CONCLUSION OF THIS SPORT The USPFC Director assigned to your sport is knowledgeable and experienced in providing assistance during the preparation and running of the sport. Questions, a detailed accounting of your preparations, and any area requiring approval of the USPFC shall be submitted in a timely manner to this USPFC Director. The USPFC Directors want to work with you to make your sport a success. PLEASE USE THE USPFC DIRECTORS AS A RESOURCE.
