MECHANICSBURG AREA SENIOR HIGH And THE MECHANICSBURG MUSIC ALLIANCE Present The 2017 ART IN MOTION INDOOR COLORGUARD AND PERCUSSION COMPETITION

January 15, 2017 Dear Band Directors, Unit Coordinators, Staff, Parents and Students, On behalf of the Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School Music Alliance, our Directors, Staff and Students of our Music Department, we welcome you to the 2017 Art in Motion Indoor Percussion and Colorguard Competition. This event will allow you to showcase all of the hard work and dedication you and your students put forth in a critical part of their educational experience. We look forward to sharing that experience with you as part of your season. This packet contains important information about our show. Please review this very carefully with your students, staff, and parents. We have worked very hard to provide you with a venue that will allow you to have a safe and fun day for everyone involved in your program. We ask for your cooperation, suggestions, and help which will ensure the best competitive day for your unit. During the day of our show, we will have staff, parents and students available to provide any assistance that you may need. Thank you for choosing the 2017 Art in Motion Indoor Show as part of your competitive season and we hope you enjoy the show! Sincerely, Michelle Wirth and Nicolle Brougher Smith Co-Chairs for the 2017 Art in Motion Indoor Competition Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School and Music Alliance

Important Notice to Directors In order to give the Mechanicsburg World Guard an opportunity to perform their entire show and more importantly for safety reasons for participating units, we plan to empty the back bleachers and move all participants off the bleachers and over to the sides of the gym, at the end of the Blue Guard group performances and then close the back bleachers. At the conclusion of the World Guard performance the bleachers will be re-opened for participants to re-enter. All guard representatives will need to report to the back hall way for awards. All other participants can go back onto the bleachers for awards. We apologize for any inconvenience to your students and staff, however for the safety of everyone in attendance; we feel this is in everyone s best interest. Thank you in advance for your understanding. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, Nicolle Brougher-Smith or Michelle Wirth.
