FHL Crystal Trophy 2
FHL Exton Igloos comes under new ownership Please welcome new FHL owner Robert Chisholm who has bought the Exton Igloos and is relocating the franchise to Calgary, Alberta and renaming them the Calgary Tigers. Please see Robert s bio below. My favorite sports are hockey and soccer. As a youth I was able to see the Vancouver Canucks my favorite team join the NHL. I clearly recall that first game against Los Angeles watching Barry Wilkins score the 1st ever goal for the Canucks. We moved to Alberta in 72 and the Alberta Oilers became my favorite WHA team but just like the WHA teams continuously moved so did my favorite WHA team, Houston Aeros, Minnesota Fighting Saints, Calgary Cowboys and lastly the Cincinnati Stingers. Today the Canucks remain my favorite team but now living in Calgary I also cheer for the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers. Makes for some interesting conversations as there is a heated rivalry between the three cities and many fans view the other as the enemy. I had the honour of working closely with Jordan Eberle s Aunt and to a lesser extent his Dad. For baseball fans ex Phillies-Redlegs Glen Gorbous s son also worked there. Never met Glen or Jordan, nor my 3rd cousin Mike Byers who played for the LA Kings, New England Whalers and Cincinnati Stingers back in the 70s. Gaming started in 73-74 with Negamco Hockey WHA. A few years ago I took up DKS Baseball and played in many KOD and KOD tourneys. I won the 68 Tourney with the 68 Mets. I competed in several football leagues some with your current Champion Doug Shirley. Now I focus on Hockey. I run two leagues. Route66 a retro league started in 67-68 now heading into the 70-71 season this fall and Avco_WHA heading into the 74-75 season. Though I do miss those fight filled games I had with Doug when he was part of the league. We even had the backup goalies go at it one night during a bench clearing brawl. Maybe I ll send out some goons for old-time s sake when I head to Boston to meet (or should I say beat up on the Whalers). I also compete in Nacho with Luc and lastly LOTR an original 6 league. I look forward to competing this season with all of you though it won t be as the Exton Igloos as Pennsylvania is a long ways to travel and although Exton did have great local fan support, alas the temperature was just too warm and the Igloos ice continued to melt. I have decided to bring the team home as the Calgary Tigers in honour of the 1923-24 Calgary Tigers who lost to the Montreal Canadians in the Stanley Cup final. The Tigers are willing to discuss trade with any other club, though newly named team captain Jordan Eberle will remain a lifelong Calgary Tiger but all other players with the move to Calgary lost their no trade clauses. Please note that GP penalties are necessary to prevent over usage of players by teams to gain an unfair advantage during the regular season. Penalties were based on aggregate over usage, draft position, and prior history to name a few. FHL Encyclopedia By Chad Pridemore The FHL Encyclopedia has been updated to reflect last season. This is a nice synopsis of all the teams over the entire history of the FHL. This will also be posted to the FHL Webpage for review. It shows the rise and fall of teams; the owners through history; and the up and coming teams. As usual if there are any errors in this please let me know ASAP. I hope you enjoy this summary of the FHL. 5

From the Commissioner s Office Long time no see (or has it been that long?)! We hope you had a terrific summer break. However summer for the FHL is coming to an end and it is time to get ready for an exciting upcoming season 7 of the FHL. Be sure to pre-order your Action PC! Hockey game ASAP. FHL Help Wanted We would like to make a plea again for recruits to help us run the FHL. Help desired in the FHL Draft, Gamespeak articles, tracking trades, FHL Facebook, etc... If interested, then please email us. We will be reaching out to you too. Please carefully review the FHL Schedule of Events and Due dates on Page 13. This will give you important dates to keep track of for this upcoming season. Please note this schedule may be subject to change pending unforeseen delays at DKS release date, issues FHL Exec group, etc.. Please check the FHL Webpage for any new announcements regarding this. There are many new and exciting features in the new release of Action PC! Hockey 2016. For those pugilists among us there will be more detailed play by play leading up to and including fights on the ice; expanded injury system including temporary in game injuries, and improved COA options. But the most promising is the new player form usage tab which allows you to customize playing time for individual players based on specific game situations. This looks to correct some poor line management issues with certain players getting too much ice time and others not getting enough in the past. Again we would like to thank you for participating in year 7 in the FHL. The FHL is all about its members which are you. We appreciate you and look forward to this season. 14
