Horsebox entrance via Chelworth Road this will be sign posted all other show traffic via B4553 Purton Road. Any passes issued will state which entrance to use. To control and manage the vehicles in the horsebox park, ONLY horseboxes and trailers will be permitted, any vehicles travelling separately from their horsebox must apply in advance for entrance wrist bands as they will park in the general public car park which is in a separate location (off B4553). Where wrist bands are issued, it is recommended that all your equipment be with your horse s transport as cars will be parked in a different location. This will be strictly adhered to. The list of judges for the showing classes is available online at www.crickladeshow.co.uk. Here you ll also find details about the rest of the show, and what s on in our main attractions arenas this year. In 2012 400 horses competed, so parking and entries are limited. We recommend you pre-enter to secure your place and obtain your competitor wrist band to enable your entrance into the show. Warm up areas are provided and we would remind all competitors to ride left shoulder to left shoulder, and when warming up over a fence to keep the red flag on your right. We would warn the public not to enter these warm up areas, and when competitors are not warming up, to be aware of horses who are, and so not to wait/stand in unsuitable areas where they may cause congestion. Rules 1. The Judges and Secretaries decisions will be final. However any objection concerning judging must be taken up with the Judge prior to the prize giving. 2. HARD HATS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AND SECURED WITH A CHINSTRAP. BOWLER HATS ARE NOT ALLOWED in ridden classes. These rules will be strictly enforced in ALL classes. Any competitor who fails to comply will be excluded from ALL classes with no refund of entry money. 3. Ages of riders and handlers are all taken as at 1st January of the current year. 4. Challenge cups must be signed for and returned to the Secretary on or before 1st August 2014. Holders will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the trophies. 5. Entry fees will be refunded only at the sole discretion of the Show Secretary. A veterinary certificate will be required should a horse be unfit to compete. 6. ENTRIES. Late entries on all classes will be taken at 12.00 per class (except in dressage and classes 1, 7, 13, 21, 30, 38, 48, and 61 as these all start at 9.00am prompt) subject to space being available. Classes will be strictly limited to 40 per class. You are strongly advised to enter early as space cannot be guaranteed. 7. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY TELEPHONE OR EMAIL. 8. OVERLAPPING OF CLASSES. The committee gives notice that overlapping of classes in different rings may occur and that if competitors enter classes being held at the same time, they do so at their own risk. The Secretary and stewards will assist competitors in this situation wherever possible, and if you are permitted to leave a class you must return before the prize giving otherwise you will forfeit your placing. 9. In the interest of safety please WALK horses in the main field when not competing. Space will be provided for warming up. Those who break this rule may be asked to leave the show ground. 10. The committee accepts no responsibility whatsoever for any accident caused to or by spectators, competitors, their horses or property on or off the show ground. 11. Any objection or protest must be handed in at the Secretary s tent in writing within half an hour of the event, together with a deposit of 50. The deposit will be forfeited if the Judges decide that the objection cannot be sustained. Also see rule 1. 12. An accurate measuring stick will be available and will be used in any instance of doubt. 13. PLEASE NOTE: Free entry to the show ground will be limited to one groom per competitor. 14. Showing classes will be judged under PUK, NPS and CHAPS rules where applicable it is recommended that competitors are familiar with the applicable association s rules. 15. Show jumping faults will be as per the BSJA. 16. Dressage rules will be as per British Riding Club. 17. A Veteran is aged at 18 years and over. 18. No ringside parking will be available. 19. Rosettes will be awarded to sixth place in show jumping, showing, and gymkhana and to tenth place in dressage and premier jumping classes. 20. Spurs are not to be used by any junior within showing or working hunter class, or in any mountain and moorland class. Spurs are permitted in dressage and show jumping, and showing where it is deemed to be the correct dress code. 21. Mountain and moorland ponies are to be shown un-plaited in their natural state. 22. Cricklade Show reserves the right to ask any horse or pony to leave, if it is felt that the animal is unwell or lame, without refund of entries. 23. In Mountain and Moorland classes riders of stallions must be 12 years old or over when riding small breeds (Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Welsh A & B). For large breeds (Highland, Fell, Dales, Connemara, New Forest, Welsh C & D) riders of stallions must be 14 years old or over. Ages of riders and handlers are all taken as at 1st January of the current year. Method of judging Competition horse / pony in hand 1. The Judge to stand at A. Exhibit will be awarded marks for conformation out of a maximum of 20 marks. 2. The exhibit to walk the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks for the walk. 3. The exhibit to trot the triangle: A-B, B-C, C-A. Marks to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks for the trot. 4. Overall impression to be awarded out of a maximum of 20 marks as exhibit leaves the ring. Exhibits are required back at the completion of the class for presentation of the awards

Method of judging ridden competition horse/pony classes Horses and ponies will enter the ring individually, and will not be ridden by the Judge and will be judged according to the Performance/Competition class rules. The individual Freestyle Show to include the following movements in an arena no larger than 40m x60m. Halt, walk on a long rein, ordinary trot serpentine, extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal. Not to exceed 2 mins. Conformation and suitability 40 marks. Performance classes where jumping is required Phase 1 Jump (50 marks), Freestyle show (40 marks), Conformation and suitability (10 marks). UK Riders & Chasers have awarded Cricklade Show Qualifiers in dressage and show jumping. Riders 1st 5th places QUALIFY for the regional final in show jumping. Riders with 58% plus dressage or in the top 5 also qualify. Non-members have 14 days to join the association, and so accepting the qualification to the UK Riders Top Spec Challenge. To qualify for one of the classes 1. Enter one of the qualifying classes 2. Be one of the two highest placed exhibits not already qualified within the 1st four and receive a qualification card 3. Complete the entry form on the qualification card 4. Both owner and the rider / exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS(UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete, but in order to qualify they must both be Showing members and the horse / pony must be registered with the society BEFORE this show for the qualification to be valid. Membership cards and qualification cards must be produced in the ring, the latter being signed by the judge in two places. See CHAPS Members Handbook or www.chapsuk.com for rulings. The CHAPS (UK) Championship show will be held on the 29th - 31st August 2013. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) qualifiers (18, 38, 39, 59, and 60). For full rulings and information on competition / qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members Handbook or visit www.chapsuk.com. All stallions entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). ID discs to be worn in the ring for inspection. Foals born within the current year are not eligible to compete in qualifying classes.

Ponies Association UK The 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each qualifying class will qualify. Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members of Ponies (UK) must be an A or ALS member, the pony registered and the handler/rider an A/ALS/SRC or JRC member at time of entry. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern in August 2014. The three highest placed ponies, if owned by NPS members, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may not pass further down the line. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships The Silver Medal Rosette goes to the Champion, if owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member. If the Champion is not owned by an NPS member the Silver Medal Rosette goes to the Reserve if it is owned by an NPS member. Silver Medal Rosette to go no lower than 1st Reserve (3rd) provided it is owned by an NPS member. The qualification goes to the Champion if owned by an NPS member and not already qualified for the final. If the Champion is not owned by an NPS Members or has already qualified then the qualification goes to the Reserve Champion, if owned by an NPS member, unless he has already qualified. Qualification to go no lower than 1st Reserve. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in August 2014. Fences will range from 2ft 6 to 2ft 9 (75cm 85cm), with the 2nd phase being timed. Open to horses and ponies, riders must be in full time education at the

school or college they represent in 2012 (under 19 yrs on 1st Jan 2013) who have not competed at BE pre-novice or higher. Prizes will be awarded to the best individual rider as well as the highest placed team. Teams = 3 or 4 different horses & riders, best 3 scores to count. The idea is to jump the show jumping course, demonstrating the ability to ride a course competently in good style and rhythm. And then go to the 2nd timed phase of fences in the same arena. The rider must then show an increase in pace and demonstrate the forward seat. There are four scoring elements to the competition. 1. Show jumping penalties 2. 2nd phase jumping penalties 3. 2nd phase time penalties 4. Style (for the two phases combined) The scores are then calculated and then given as penalty marks. The winner is the person with the fewest penalty marks. There are a number of NSEA Qualifiers around the country, culminating in a Championship in the November of each year. RING 1 Coltsmoor Show Jumping Ring Commencing 9.00am sharp. Class 1 drawn order. Entry fee for classes 1 6 is 10.00 per horse. Please make sure you have read Rule 2 & Rule 6. Late entries at 12.00 per class, EXCEPT CLASS 1 WHERE ONLY PRE- ENTERED HORSES ARE PERMITTED TO JUMP. Riders any age can compete. All classes in Ring 1 are capped at 40 competitors. Classes 1, 2 & 6 will be jumped as a two phase competition, once the rider has completed the 1st course of fences, if a clear round, they will jump off immediately, with their time starting as they jump the 1st fence within the jump off course. NEW Class 3 Team Show Jumping with Style competition Open to all kindly sponsored by Prior Park School This class is open to individuals and teams of four riders. Riders can be juniors or seniors, friends, members of riding clubs or pony clubs. This class also includes the qualifier for member of the NSEA. Two riders to jump the smaller course of 65-75cms (class 3A), two riders to jump the larger course of 75cm 85cm (class 3B), with the 2nd phase of each course being timed. Riders of the smaller course will jump 1st, paired with others of their team, once the 1st two from each team has jumped, the course will be raised, the 2nd pair will jump from each team. Prizes will be awarded to the best individual rider as well as the highest placed team, including the highest placed NSEA and Riding Club team. When entering please detail which riders jump in the A & B section. Teams = 3 or 4 different horses & riders, best 3 scores to count. Rugs and sashes will be awarded to the 1st place individual and 1st place team. Class 4 Top Score kindly sponsored by Cricklade Rugby Football Club Open to horses and ponies. Fences will be set between 2ft 6, and 3ft 6 and each will have a score. One minute will be given for competitors to jump their choice of fences to achieve their best score. Fences cannot be jumped more than twice and any fence that is knocked down will not be counted. Competitors must ride through the start and finish and will be given a 10 2nd warning to get to the finish. In the event of a tie, the time over the minute given will be converted into penalties. Welcome to Cricklade Horse Show Although the main show was unable to go ahead we were able at the last moment to move the driving and just about managed to keep dry until the drive when the heavens opened!. This year there will be a totally new format from previous shows and will be in line with other driving shows in Wiltshire, each class will stand alone but with the Private Driving Classes going forward to a Championship. Qualifiers are available and there will be a Show Drive with a BDS Show drive Rosette to go towards your Red Rover total. This class will also have a new trophy in fond memory of Roger Cleaver who for many years together with his family supported and organised the Carriage Driving at this Show. Please park Lorries and trailers in the area designated for Carriage Driving which will be signposted. Have a safe journey. Driving Schedule General Conditions of the Show 1. The show organiser reserves the right to vary the order of events and times and to decline any entry. 2. Instructions displayed or given on or in the vicinity of the show ground must be strictly adhered to. 3. The judges decision is final. 4. All competitors are expected to conduct themselves correctly and safely within the ring, failure to do so after one warning by the judge or ring steward will result in the competitor being required to leave the ring. 5. Ages will be taken as at the day of the show. In case of a dispute the drivers birth certificate and/or the horse/pony s height certificate may be required and prizes may be withheld. Young drivers must not have attained their 18th birthday by the date of the show. 6. No money will be refunded unless a veterinary certificate is produced. 7. Driving competitors must have valid 3rd party insurance cover, and will be required to produce evidence of this cover. 8. Please do not leave any rubbish, litter bedding or manure on the show ground. 9. For all ridden classes hard hats to the approved standard must be worn, with the chin strap fastened. 10. All whips and grooms under 14 years must wear a hard hat to the correct specification and properly fastened 11. Grooms are not required to ride within the vehicle. 12. All cups are perpetual and must be returned clean prior to the 2014 show. 13. Please park in area allocated only. Affiliated Driving Classes Classes will commence at 11.30 am. Entry for ALL Classes: 7.00 Entries on the day as above plus 2.00 Class 1 In Hand Driving Pony or Horse 4 years and above which is entered into one of the following classes: Class 2 Exercise Vehicle - Any Height Single pair or tandem horse (s) or pony (s) mule (s) 4 years or over driven to a utility or pneumatic wheeled vehicle, two or four wheeled only (no traditional vehicles). Vehicles must be clean, tidy, safe and suitable for everyday driving across mixed terrain. Pony/horse/mule must be correctly harnessed and spares must be carried. Whips should be appropriately dressed. This will be judged under BDS rules and the class may be split at the Judge s and/or Show Secretary s discretion, depending on entries. This class has Qualifiers for the following categories of the Osborne Refrigerators BDS Championships 2013. Eligible turnouts must be owned and driven by a current BDS member. l Single turnout driven to a two-wheel exercise vehicle M Single turnout driven to a four-wheel exercise vehicle This class is a Victoria Foods Open Exercise Vehicle Championship Qualifier. Spares may be required to be shown. Commercial and Hackney wagons barred. This will be judged under BDS rules. This class may be split by height at the Judge s and / or Show Secretary s discretion, depending on entries. This class is a Qualifier for the following category of the Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championships 2013. Eligible turnouts must be owned and driven by a current BDS member. f Single pure bred Registered Welsh Section C g Single pure bred Registered Welsh Sections A & B Class 5 Private Driving Class Under 13.2 and Over 13.2 For horse(s) or pony(s) 4 years or over harnessed to a well maintained vehicle suitable for an amateur to drive on the road, as a single, tandem or pair. Spares will be required to be shown. Commercial and Hackney wagons barred. This will be judged under BDS rules and the class may be split at the Judge s and/or Show Secretary s discretion, depending on entries. Exercise vehicles are eligible to compete in this class. Special Awards will be given to the highest placed exercise vehicle. This class has Qualifiers for the following categories of the Osborne Refrigerators BDS Championships 2013. Eligible turnouts must be owned and driven by a current BDS member. D Country turnout single, pair or tandem Private Driving Championship Those placed 1st and 2nd in each of the height categories in Classes 4 & 5 will go forward to the Private Driving Championship. The overall winner to be presented with The Indian Herbs Equine Trophy. This class is a Victoria Foods Open Private Driving Championship Qualifier. The Champion will qualify for the Grand Final to be held on Sunday 15th September 2013 at the Hand Equestrian Centre, Clevedon, Somerset. Further details are available from the Secretary. In the event of the Champion having already qualified, the reserve will qualify. Should both turnouts be already qualified, the rosette will be presented to the Champion. Class 6 Private Driving Class Under 13.2 and Over 13.2 With Drive For horse(s) or pony(s) 4 years or over harnessed to a well maintained vehicle suitable for an amateur to drive on the road, as a single, tandem or pair. Spares may be required to be shown. Commercial and Hackney wagons barred. This will be judged under BDS rules and the class may be split at the Judge s and/or Show Secretary s discretion depending on entries. After preliminary judging there will be a drive of not less than 4 miles. Those successfully completing the drive will receive a BDS Show Drive Rosette. The winner will receive the Roger Cleaver Trophy.

Directions Horseboxes and Trailers Entrance via Chelworth Road this will be signposted. To control and manage the vehicles in the horsebox park, ONLY horseboxes and trailers will be permitted. Any vehicles travelling separately from their horsebox must either apply in advance for a car pass or park in the general public car park, which is signposted off the B4553. Where car passes are issued, it is recommended that all your equipment be with your horse s transport as cars will be parked in a separate section of the horsebox park, and not directly with your horsebox. This will be strictly adhered to. Cars with no pass will be redirected. Please ensure that you remove all evidence of your visit in the usual manner.
