Special Regulations EXTREME LAGARES 2018
Presentation On May 11th, 12th and 13th, 2018, Extreme Clube Lagares will hold the 14th edition of the Extreme XL Lagares, under the aegis of the Federação Motociclismo de Portugal. The race will be carried out in accordance with the present regulation, and with all other final regulations approved by the jury of the event. 1. Registrations Registrations will be made online, in www.extremelagares.com, in a official registration form. In case of any trouble or doubt, the email extremelagares2018@gmail.com can be used. The number of entries is limited to 220 participants. Registrations will end on May 1st, 2018 2. Registration fee If payed until April 15th = 190 Eur If payed betwen April 16th and May 1st = 250 Eur
3. Payment method Payment must be made, by bank transfer to an IBAN, that will be sent by email after online registration. The bank transfer proof of payment must be sent to the email extremelagares2018@gmail.com with the rider s name and class. 4. Technical and documental control Documental control will take place on May 10th, from 14:00 to 20:00, and in May 11th from 09:00 to 15:00 in the Event Secretary in Lugar de Quintandona - Lagares - Penafiel. 5. Race Classes There are only two race classes in competition, the Pro Class and Expert Class Besides this class, there will also be 3 AMATEUR CLASSES. Foreign amateur riders without racing license can only race in HOBBY CLASS, XL CLASS and VETERANS CLASS Foreign riders, with their country racing license, must have Start Permission from their own Federations. The organization has a Civil Liability Insurance in the amount of 8,000,000, complying with the legislation for this type of event (see articles 12 and 13 of DL 291/2007, of 21 August). This Insurance is included in the amount of the registration fee, but does not cover riders own damages. 5.1 PRO CLASS a) This class will be for one rider, one bike; b) Just for riders with National or International Status; c) Rider must have racing license/start permission d) Enduro FIM tires mandatory e) Will race full course three times (3laps), on Sunday, May 13th. 5.2 Expert Class a) This class will be for one rider one bike; b) Will race 90% of the Pro Class course, but only two laps.
5.3. XL Class a) This Class will be for a team of two riders and two bikes; b) Will race full course with some alternatives. 5.4 Hobby Class a) This class will be for one rider, one bike; b) Will race full course with some alternatives. 5.5 Veterans Class a) Rider with more than 40 years in January 1st 2017 b) Will race full course with some alternatives. 6. Bikes Only enduro or motocross bikes will be allowed. In case of doubt, about bike category, is up to the race jury to decide if it can race or not. No Trial nor Hybrid tires will be allowed. 7. The Prologue is mandatory to al riders. Riders/teams that will not complete the prologue, will take the last rider s time, plus one minute.
Endurocross time will add to prologue time and it will define Sunday Main Race starting order. Sunday, May 13th 8. Briefing There will take place a mandatory briefing, at 10:30, where all race matters will be discussed. 9. Main Race Start Race start will be at 11:00. Starting order: Pro Class Expert Class. Hobby Class, XL Class and Veterans will start in order of time. Fastest time first, but these classes will be mixed. In the Pro Class, Endurocross s first classified will start at 11:00, second classified, one minute later and third one 30 seconds after that. All the other riders will start in groups of 4 with one minute interval, with fastest total time starting first. 10 Race Course The race course consist of a 25km circuit, with one Assistance Zone (Quintandona/Paddock) 11 Outside Help No outside help is allowed, either by the audience or by the teams. Riders can help each other in exceptional cases.
There will be marshals along the circuit, properly identified, and they are the only outside help that riders can have. 12. Assistance Zone The course as one Assistance Zone (AZ), and this is the only place were teams can help riders. Refueling can only be done in the AZ 13. Time Control There will be two Time Controls (TC) in the race course. Riders that cannot reach the TC in due time, must return to the paddock by an alternative route, without using public roads. 14. Control Chart Each rider will have a Control Chart (CC), which must be validated in every Check Point (CP). If any CP is missing the rider will be excluded from the race. The Control Chart must be delivered by the rider or team at the end of the race. If it s not so, rider or team can be disqualified. 15. Race Duration Race will have a maximum duration of 6 hours. Riders/teams that are not able to finish the race in 6 hours must return to the paddock, by alternative route, without using public roads. Last CP time within the 6 hours will be considered for classification purposes. 16. Classification Classification will be made by classes, and the order will be made by the number of valid CP and then by time. Rider/team with most number of valid CP in the least amount of time will win. 17. Prizes There will be trophies and money prizes for the first 5 riders in PRO Class. There will be trophies for the first 3 riders in every other class There will only be delivered money prizes to the riders that complete the 2 laps (full race), with all CP in the CC, within the 6 hours.
18. Podium ceremony Podium ceremony will take place in the 28th of May, at 18:30 in a place to be determined.
