The Brielle Chamber of Commerce Proudly Presents The 14th Annual Brielle Family Fishing Tournament Friday June 8, Saturday June 9, and Sunday June 10. Fish one day or all three! The Brielle Chamber of Commerce Family Fishing Tournament is ready to deliver more fun and excitement than ever before. Striped bass, bluefish, and the family favorite, fluke fish will once again provide action for adults and kids alike. A total of $3,450 in prize money, presented in the form of Brielle Gift certificates redeemable at our local chamber merchants, will be presented to first, second, and third place winners. Junior angler trophies (ages 14 & under) for top three places in striper, blues, and fluke will make the Sunday (June 10th) awards party extra special. Door prizes ensure that everyone has a chance to win something. Trophy Striped Bass winner s name and boat aboard will be enshrined in the Brielle Tournament Wall of Fame Trophy Plaque hanging at The Reel Seat, 707 Union Ave, Brielle. The captain s meeting will be held Thursday June 7th at The Reel Seat at 707 Union Ave., Brielle and the Awards party will be held Sunday June 10th at Rella s Tavern, located 110 Union Avenue, Brielle, NJ. All boat weigh-ins will be at Captain Bill s Landing 49 Inlet Drive Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742. Net proceeds of the Fishing Tournament will benefit the promotion of NJ Recreational Fishing. FISHING RULES (1 of 2) 1. At least one representative MUST attend the Captain s meeting to register and receive Tournament Rules and Regulations. 2. Each boat is eligible to win only ONE prize or place per fish category. 3. Maximum of six adult anglers on any registered boat. 4. NO LINES IN THE WATER BEFORE 5:00 AM ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT (HONOR SYSTEM). All boats must start from Manasquan Inlet. 5. In case of a tie, the prize money will be equally split. 6. In the event that all places are not filled, the remaining prize money shall be split proportionately between the other winners. 7. VHF CHANNEL 71 WILL BE THE TOURNAMENT CHANNEL. VHF CHANNEL 65 WILL BE THE ALTERNATE. 8. All boats must display their entry number on the port side of the vessel. 9. ALL WEIGH-INS WILL TAKE PLACE AT Captain Bill s Landing- UP TO 5:00 PM FRIDAY & SATURDAY AND 3:00 PM ON SUNDAY. 10. ALL BOATS MUST BE IN THE MANASQUAN INLET WITHIN SIGHT OF THE DOCK. Tournament Committee may make special exception should railroad bridge operation and/or boating safety conditions impede fishing vessel progress through inlet waterway. 11. All Federal and State Rules and Regulations Prevail. 12. Positively no transferring of fish between angler and/or boat. (see # 18 for 14 and under division) 13. All anglers fish at their own risk. The captain and crew are solely responsible for the boat. 14. All fish shall be weighed in their natural state. 15. The Tournament may be cancelled or postponed by the Tournament Committee. 16. Any protest must be presented to the Tournament Committee on the day of the alleged infraction. The Chairman and Weigh Master shall serve as judge and all decisions shall be final. 17. Any boat with a potential qualifying fish assisting a distressed boat MUST report circumstances immediately to a Committee Boat. 18. In the event that the Tournament is cancelled or not all places are filled, the winners will be determined by a drawing. 19. 14 AND UNDER DIVISION PARTICIPANT S MUST SET THE HOOK THEMSELVES TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZE. Adult may hand a fish on rod to child only on the troll. Snagging bunker may be performed by adult, but then that rod must be immediately transferred to child 14 and under before any fish strike, otherwise it is the adult s fish on. 20. Overall grand prize winner for the three fish categories may not come from the 14 and under division. Jr. Anglers are only eligible for trophy awards. 21. One day of fishing constitutes official tournament should adverse weather conditions occur. Page 4 of 5

WE ALSO RELEASE THE BRIELLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, ITS OFFICERS, THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE, VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE, BODILY INJURY OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING FROM PARTICIPATION IN THIS TOURNAMENT.
