You may always sign up by yourself or with a partner or partners unless restricted by the rules on a particular Wednesday. 2PP is a two man pick your partner format. 4PP is a four man pick your partner format. CM means the computer will combine twosomes to make a foursome. When you sign up by yourself you will be paired with others to make a foursome. You will also find the results of each Wednesday s tournament on the MVMGC.net website. Results are usually posted before the end of the day on Wednesday. Your Wednesday tournament scores will be posted to your GHIN account by the Handicap chairman (usually within one or two days of playing). YOU DO NOT POST YOUR OWN SCORES. Also found on the website are: pairings, winners, current indexes, season schedule, membership roster, board contact information etc. CHECK-IN PROCEDURES: You must check-in with the Men's Club no later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled tournament tee-off time. Failure to do can result in loss of your reserved spot in your foursome if a stand-by player is available. It may also result in a fine. The Men's Club Check-in desk is manned from 6:00 to 7:00 AM, for 7:30 teeoffs; and 6:30 to 7:30 AM for 8:00 AM tee-offs. The check-in desk is not manned after the volunteers leave to warm up. Latecomers may not be able to play after tee locations are assigned and monies are collected. The Men's Club Check-in desk is located in the foyer of the Santa Rosa Pro Shop, for those playing on Santa Rosa and in Boulevards Restaurant area, for those playing on San Gorgonio. When the number of players exceeds the optimal number to maintain recommended pace of play we will use two courses (when possible) to accommodate everyone. When using two courses all players will sign in at the course being used by the majority of players. Players in the smaller group will proceed to their assigned course after sign in and begin play at the normal start time. When you Check-in you will pay a $5 Entry Fee. The Entry Fee is used as a source of funds for prizes money to Men's Club tournament winners. The prize monies are deposited into individual Sweeps Accounts (see below) of each winner by the Pro Shop, following the tournament. 2
On those Wednesday's when a luncheon is scheduled an additional lunch fee is required. If you sign up for play on a day where there is a scheduled lunch you must pay for the lunch. Play with no lunch is not an option. Please make an effort to have the correct amount of money available for each type of tournament. A representative from the Pro Shop, also seated at the Men's Club Check-in desk, will ask you how you want to charge your green fees, to your account or another way. If you want to pay by credit card, sweeps or cash you must do so in the Pro Shop. After you have paid your Entry Fee the Tournament coordinator will either give you a score card or will tell you who in your foursome has it. If you do not know the others in your foursome you can ask for assistance at the Men's Club Check-in desk. Cancellations: If for any reason you find that you cannot play after you have signed up, it is your responsibility to contact the Tournament Chairman so that another player can fill your spot. If you find that you need to cancel at the last minute you must make every attempt to contact someone (Pro Shop {760/200-2200, Tony Deleva, Friend, etc.) who can convey your cancellation notice to the Men s Club Check-in desk. No shows without legitimate excuses will be subject to a $10.00 fine. On days of play that include a luncheon, you must cancel before Friday noon on the Friday before the tournament or you will be charged $20.00 for the cost of the lunch. Tee Assignments: You have three tee choices: Gold; Blue or White. (Anyone who has experienced loss of distance due to age or physical limitations is strongly urged to try the white tee box as a way to more fully enjoy the game and speed up play you are free to experiment with the white tees before making a commitment to play them on a regular basis.) Tee choices should be made based on your ability to reach the greens in regulation. Once you have selected the tees you wish to play from you should continue to play from those tees and not switch back and forth. Please contact the handicap chairman if you have any questions. 3
