The Washington County Fair is an event that not only encompasses our entire community but draws attention from surrounding counties. Each year, our combination of first-class exhibits, competitors, rodeo, special attractions and headliner entertainment attracts over 50,000 fair attendees. The Washington County Fair is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with the purpose of providing scholarships to the deserving youth of our county. Our mission is to promote and encourage agriculture, horticulture and home economics through the exhibition of related products with a principal goal to support youth activities through education and scholarship. THE WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR ASSOCIATION Awards over $15,000 in Scholarships to local youth each year. Has approximately 50,000 attendees each year. Has over 600 volunteers involved in the programs. Is the oldest County Fair in Texas! Has nearly 1000 participants from surrounding counties in the Jr. Livestock / Dairy Judging Contest. CPRA Sanctioned Rodeo that consistently ranks in the top 10 in Texas. Also hosts a Youth Rodeo, County Roping, Muttin Bustin, Calf Scramble and Wild Steer Saddling. Has approximately 500 entries in the Texas Club Calf Association (TCCA) sanctioned Jr. Open Steer & Heifer Shows. Has over 100 entries in the Antique Tractor & Engine Show. Has over 65 Commercial Trade Exhibitors. Has over 400 youth/adult exhibitors in the Country Creations Homemaking Division.
