This sport is shot with all types of pellet rifles (no BB guns). Rifles used typically shoot.177 caliber pellets at around 900 fps where precision shooting is more desirable than high velocity. The targets used are special designed steel knockdown target with various size kill zones. Targets are set in typical field hunting scenarios at unspecified distances from 10 yards to 55 yards from the shooter. Rangefinders are not allowed. Shooters are allowed to rely on the ranging ability of rifle scores with adjustable parallax. For additional info you can Google Airgun Field Target Shooting or check out this video on You Tube, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbqoygwcwwk.
