It was decided that we should place ads in the Osseo paper when we have events such as the salt sale and the steak fry. Winston is sending letters soon requesting dates at Cub Foods for the 2012 holiday season. The spring salt sale will commence on Wednesday, April 4 th and end on Monday, April 16 th. The salt pick-up will be on Saturday, April 21 st. We have received a few commitments from businesses on banner sales. Accurate Auto purchased a $500.00 banner, the Lookout, Brothers Meats and Maple Grove Cycling have said they would like to buy a banner. State Farm is doing a video ad on our website home page. Apparel Sales Our total revenue from apparel sales is $1365.00. The board approved a motion to upgrade our website to include an apparel store so that we can provide more consistent apparel availability. Page 1 of 5
Coach s Report Tryouts will be held from March 19-23 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. for new players and from 7:30-9:00 p.m. for returning players. Be sure to get all forms turned in to the athletic office by Friday, March 16 th. Four tees have been ordered for gym use and another set of catcher s gear has been purchased. The athletic department has allocated $1500.00 for the purchase of new bats. The booster club has already purchased 8 bats and the board approved an additional $400.00 expenditure for additional bats. The change to BBCOR bats has made it necessary to acquire a new supply of bats for all 3 teams. The athletic department has also purchased 35 new jerseys and 20 pairs of pants for the coming season. A decision is pending on whether we will order an additional set of uniforms. Spring Trip A spring break baseball trip is awaiting approval from the school board before plans become final. The proposed dates are March 25-30 and location is St. Louis, Missouri. An itinerary, practice and game schedule, and player costs will be finalized as soon as we have approval for the trip. Practice Opportunities The Maple Grove dome practices start on January 11 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. The $50.00 fee is due at that time and checks can be made out to Osseo Baseball Booster Club. A few dads are needed to help run practices and you can contact Jim Schumer to volunteer if interested. The rules in the Dome state that only water is allowed no gum, seeds or Gatorade. There is room for 40 players and the main focus is throwing. The practice area is exclusively ours during this hour. Page 2 of 5
Sunday night practices in the East Gym begin on Sunday, January 18 th from 7:00-10:00 p.m. The main focus of these practices is hitting. A few parents are also needed to assist with these practices, contact Jim Schumer to volunteer.
