All of your favorite tunes will be playing, there will be luck dips available, glow sticks for sale, and who knows you may even get your photo in the newsletter. Last time was such a great night we want to do it all over again!!! Woop Woop!!! 10

How special is August 1st going to be. Friday August 1st is absolutely going to be massive at the club rooms. Firstly there is the Fathers Day in August night, where we celebrate all things Dad, beer, footy, finger food, and that s without the activities and prizes on the night. The Mothers Day evening was a blast for all the Mum s and I m sure there will be some great laughs on our Fathers Day evening. but even more importantly, we have a very special event. At 8PM on this same evening Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers and players from our club will be shaving their heads for a very special cause; one very sick little boy in our clubs community, Cohen. COHEN S STORY Cohen was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2009 at the age of 2. As a result of the tumor Cohen had to have a shunt implanted. During the course of the last 5 years the shunt has become blocked several times. Cohen s tumor has since grown back. In an effort to treat Cohen s condition, he has undergone radiotherapy treatment. Unfortunately this treatment has not been successful. Sadly, after this five year battle, Cohen s condition has now become terminal. Cohen no longer has one tumor, he now has four. Cohen and his family now have no options for further treatment, nor could a treatment be successful. Unfortunately Cohen s days now appear to be numbered. 11

His adoring family, who during this ordeal have exhausted their resources, are now struggling financially to ensure that Cohen s time on this earth is everything. This story is about a family, their dedication, unconditional and beautiful love for Cohen. They want him to enjoy what time he has left with them. Cohen understands he is sick, but at 7 years of age has no concept of the severity of his illness. Cohen, like his siblings, wants to enjoy life and play sport. He loves football and wishes he could play, just like his brother. Unfortunately Cohen cannot play due to his illness. Our contribution is but a small token of the amount we would like to see collected for this family, and ultimately Cohen. Please remember your gift of support would also be contributing to creating lasting memories for this family of their beautiful boy. I hope we can all get behind it and support this cause. Pledge sheets for the participants will be available at the bar from Friday night. The biggest pledge gets to shave the coach of their choices head on the night, start saving guys!!! Do you have any photos you would like to share of our amazing club? If so please send then to Andrew Slaidins at slaidins@netspace.net.au along with dates and places, teams and locations, and most importantly any weekly award winners? If there is anything you would like to see featured in the newsletter places also contact Andrew via email or facebook. 12
