About Marlow FC The club was formed in 1870 at the Compleat Angler Hotel on the banks of the Thames and so began the history of one of the oldest clubs in the country. Notably, the club was one of the original entrants in the very first FA Cup competition in 1871/72, having contributed to the purchase of the Cup. Marlow FC has the distinction of being the only club to have applied to take part in the FA Cup every year since its inception. First England captain Cuthbert Ottaway Marlow FC has a great history and heritage in the game. The first England captain, Cuthbert Ottaway, represented the club and long serving club secretary, Alfred Davis, was coach of the Great Britain football team at the 1908 Olympic Games. The Alfred Davis Memorial Ground is considered to be one of the most iconic non-league grounds in the country and has played host to many FA representative matches. Thanks to its extensive history, Marlow has global support and received visitors from across the globe including: Australia, Holland, Germany, Thailand, America, and beyond. In the modern era the club s FA cup exploits have seen them appear on TV having progressed to play teams such as Tottenham Hotspur, Plymouth Argyle, West Bromwich Albion and Swindon Town. Advertising Pitch-side Advertising A pitch side banner provides an amazing, highly-visible opportunity to boost your brand awareness and company image. Strategically-placed perimeter boards allow your company's advertising to be seen by thousands of potential clients. Allocation is on a first come first served basis, so please be quick to pick a prime slot. Your banner will be displayed throughout the season for all home matches at the Alfred Davis Memorial Ground, including the Marlow FC first team, under 18s and youth section games. Pitch-side advertising is available for between 75 and 150 per season. Book for two seasons and get a third season for free. Don t have your own banner? Match-day Programme Our match-day programme is popular among our home and visiting fans and provides an ideal vehicle to promote your company. Advertising starts at just 50 for a full season, the equivalent of less than 4p per programme. It is possible to create a bespoke package to include other sponsorship opportunities and advertising strategies. Advertising space is limited so early booking is recommended. Further Opportunities There are many more commercial opportunities available in conjunction with our other teams. We can offer combined sponsorship packages dramatically extending the reach of your company. Marlow Youth Marlow FC has a very strong youth section with boys and girls from in and around the Marlow area, from pre-school to under 18. There are over 400 players in 30 teams playing 500 matches throughout the season. Our youth teams play across South Buckinghamshire and East Berkshire. The club s Youth section was awarded Community Club of the Year by the Berks & Bucks FA in 2015. The award recognises the dedication of the many volunteers who enable local children and young adults to play football throughout the year. Marlow Girls Our Youth section offers football to both boys and girls. In developing football through the club and for the local community, we now have 4 girls teams and are looking to increase girl s football over the coming season. Marlow Inclusive Our inclusive section is something very special, being one of a small number clubs offering pan-disability football for ages 6 to 16. During last season this has expanded and now offers training and tournaments to young adults. Marlow Ladies Our successful Ladies team play in the Premier Division of the Southern Region Women's Football League having won the Division One title in 2015. 2015/16 has seen more success with good runs in both the League and FA Women s Cups. Youth Tournament In early May each year, our Youth section one of the most popular and successful youth football tournaments in the area. More than 1000 children and their families attend over the tournament weekend, where matches are played on the main pitch at our Oak Tree Road ground. The event also plays host to inclusive teams from across the area and introduces our youngest preschool players to the excitement of playing in front of a huge and enthusiastic crowd, cheering every touch of the ball.
