ac 2 nd January to 8 th January 2016 Maroochy Sailing Club NOTICE OF RACE The organising authority is the Maroochy Sailing Club on behalf of the Cobra, Stingray, Arrow and Arafura Cadet Catamaran Associations. 1 RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013 2016. 1.2 The Prescriptions and Specials Regulations of Yachting Australia Inc. will apply. 2 ADVERTISING 2.1 Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. 3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 The regatta is open to all financial class members associated classes who hold Yachting Australia Silver Card or equivalent and be financial members of a recognised sailing/yacht club (skipper and crew). 3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it to Todd McVey by the 30th November 2015. Early entries will be entered into the early registration prize pool. 3.3 Late entries will be accepted after the due date, but will attract a late fee of $100.00. 4 FEES 4.1 Entry fee: $325 Cobra/Stingray before 30 November 2015; $425 after 30 November. $275 Arrow & Arafura Cadet (Junior skipper $225); $375 & $325 respectively after 30 Nov. 4.2 2015 Entry fee includes: Cobra/Stingray 2 tickets to open night 2 tickets to presentation night 2 T-shirts Arrow and Arafura Cadet 1 tickets to open night 1 tickets to presentation night 1 T-shirt Page 1

11 SCORING 11.1 The low point system of Appendix A will apply 11.2 Four (4) races are required to be completed to constitute a series. a) When 4 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores. b) When 5 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. c) When 10 races have been completed, a boat s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst two scores. 12 BERTHING 12.1 Boats can be left on the rigging lawn for the duration of the event. 12.2 Trailers are to be removed from rigging lawn immediately after unloading boat and stored in the designated area. (For those who don t need trailers at the event site they are requested to store at Todd McVey s property - 73 Glen Finnan Ct Forest Glen 4556) 13 RADIO COMMUNICATION 13.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. 14 PRIZES 14.1 Cobra prizes will be given as follows: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Places to Line Honours skipper & crew 1st, 2nd & 3rd Places to Handicap skipper & crew (Line Honours trophy winners not eligible for Handicap trophies) Perpetual Trophies 1st Place to Junior skipper (under 21 years at 1/12/14) 1st Place to Veteran skipper (over 40 years at 1/12/14) 1st Place to Masters skipper (over 50 years at 1/12/14) 1st Place to Female skipper Teams Trophy: (Teams to be nominated prior to Heat 1, comprising 3 skippers who are financial members of the same yacht club). Perpetual trophies 1 st Champion 1 st Handicap Other prizes may be awarded by the Organizing Authority 15 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 15.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.
