January 25, 2012 TSA Advisors and Members, Happy 25 th Anniversary TSA! As we begin the exciting time of our school year where our students are hard at work finishing last minute projects and putting those last touches on presentations, your TSA Officers and Executive Committee have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming TSA State Conference. I know TSA Regional Conferences are right around the corner and you are beginning to look ahead to state conference. The information enclosed will help you make this process easier for the veterans and new chapters recently affiliated with Kentucky TSA. For those of you who are new to TSA, the State Conference and competitions are opened to any chapter who has affiliated with National TSA. It is not mandatory that your students compete at Regionals in order to qualify for State. It is only a suggestion that your students attend Regionals to help them prepare for competition. The information in this email is extremely important and will impact your chapters as you begin the process of preparing for the state competition. Please read it carefully. There are several Regional Conference sights where your students can participate. The Morehead State University Regional will be held on February 3, EKU February 24 and the WKE&TS-February 18. I hope that you find all the information you need but if I have left something out, please let me know and I will gladly answer any questions you may have. Thanks for all that you do for Kentucky TSA. Dates: The 25 th Annual Kentucky TSA State Conference will be held March 15-17, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. Itinerary Will be available on the website by the middle of February. Hotel Accommodations: Crowne Plaza Hotel Room Rate $89/night (Quad)

Room Reservations can be made by calling the hotel directly and the cutoff for making reservations is February 17, 2012. If you need to increase or decrease the number of rooms after regionals, you can call and do that but your reservations need to be made by the deadline. Conference Registration: Registration is $75/student, advisor, guest, chaperone. The registration price includes the meal at the awards breakfast on Saturday and conference T-shirt. Registration should be made by using the registermychapter.com website. It is open February 6, 2012 and will close March 9, 2012. There will be no changes after this date (per the decision of the executive committee). No changes or substitutions are allowed at the conference. Webmaster Competitions: All URL s for the Web Design and Webmaster Challenge Competition at the state conference should be sent to the following address by March 7. No extensions will be given. This is required in order to be judged in this event. The form to submit the entries can be found under the 2012 State Conference page on the website. Once a chapter has submitted an entry they will receive a confirmation email confirming all of the details along with the successfully submissions of their entry. Kendall.Gadd@madison.kyschools.us **Competitive Event Updates** These updates come straight from the TSAweb.org website. Please make sure your students know that they are to turn off all electronic devices during the general sessions and that they limit the conversations during that time. It has come to our

attention that this has become an increasing problem for those chapters who set in the back during those sessions and we are asking for your assistance to prevent this problem so that all our attendees can enjoy the conference. Thank you! Please take a look on registermychapter.com to see the updated list of events that have been approved by your State Executive Committee for this year. Not all of the national events are on our list of competitions. Please look at this list early so that you won t have students preparing in events that are not available. Also, please notice that for some events we have also allowed for more participants than stated in the competitive events guide.
