2016-17 Hunt Descriptions *updated 11/2/16 More Hunts Coming Soon! TULE LAKE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE: Experience the wonders of the Klamath Basin, Tule Lake, CA. The hunt will take place on the famed Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge in the afternoon of November 5. The refuge has granted access to the hunt area, which closes at 1:00 pm every day. The lucky hunters will have the refuge all to themselves on this special afternoon. The hunt is fully guided and includes decoys, blinds, boats, lodging at Winema Lodge, food and drinks. Hunters will also hunt Sunday morning. Special Conditions: Hunters can meet in Redding, CA on Saturday morning to carpool. Hunt Dates: November 5-6
HOODOO ISLAND: HooDoo Island, a portion of the Little Dry Creek Wildlife Area in Butte and Glenn Counties, consists of 130 acres of pristine wetland and riparian habitats. Butte Creek and Howard Slough flow around the island, creating a wildlife corridor teaming with wild turkeys, wood ducks, and other wildlife. All successful hunting parties have the option for a guided/mentored hunt. Groups will be able to hunt waterfowl and turkeys when in season. Waterfowl hunters will hunt in a stand-up blind. DENVERTON: This is a California Waterfowl owned property encompassing 762 acres and located in the Suisun Marsh off Highway 12. Six hunting groups will be allowed each hunt date, giving every group a great chance for a memorable hunt. The hunt area consists of three XFowler floating blinds and three Black Box pit blinds. Special Conditions: Hunters will arrive Friday night for dinner. Lodging, breakfast, and lunch is also included. Each blind will have a volunteer guide. GUSTINE GUN CLUB: The Gustine Gun Club is claimed to be the oldest hunting club in the Grasslands. With a deep waterfowl history and great wing shooting, Gustine is a great destination for any waterfowl hunter. Hunters will arrive Tuesday night before the scheduled hunt for Hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and to meet the hosting club members. Special Conditions: Participants will arrive Tuesday, December 13. HOLLISTER LAND and CATTLE CO: The Hollister Land and Cattle Co boost strong history in the Grasslands, neighboring the Gustine Gun Club. With over 2,500 acres, the Hollister is top producing club. Hunters will arrive the night before the scheduled hunt for Hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and to meet hosting club members. Special Conditions: Participants will arrive Friday, January 6 Hunt Date: January 7
McDONALD ISLAND: The 6,000 acre McDonald Island is located in the California Delta, roughly 20 minutes from Stockton, Ca. The property is adjacent to Mandeville and Medford Island. Hunting will take place in the wetlands scattered throughout the Island or on flooded or dry corn fields. Hunters will arrive Tuesday night before the scheduled hunt for Hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and to meet the hosting club members and volunteers. Special Conditions: Participants will arrive Tuesday, January 10. Weather permitting a upland hunt will take place after the waterfowl hunt. Hunt Date: January 11
SANTURA DUCK CLUB: The 160 acre Santura Duck club is located in Wasco, CA, near the Kern National Wildlife Refuge. Dinner, breakfast, and lodging is included. This waterfowl hunt will be guided. Special Conditions: Hunters will arrive Friday night for dinner on January 20.. Hunt Date: January 21
BURBANK: Burbank Land Club was established in 1927, Kern County. The Club consists of 300 acres of flooded natural wetlands consisting of swamp timothy and water grass. Walk with ease on concrete walkways to the well placed sunken blinds with swinging top lids. Special Conditions: Food and lodging provided. No gauges larger than 12. Arrive January 13 th.
