Herd Health: All bulls have undergone a complete Breeding Soundness Examination following the latest guidlines of the Society for Theriogenology. These animals were evaluated for visual and structural soundness. External and internal reproductive organs were palpated for anatomical correctness. Scrotal circumferences were measured and semen was collected using electro-ejaculation. Semen was evaluated for morphology and motility. All animals offered for sale today have been classified as Satisfactory Potential Breeders. In regards to health status and bio-security measures; Modified Live BVD, PI3, IBR, & BRSV vaccines are used exclusively in this herd. These bulls have had at least three vaccinations with these viral vaccines along with two 7-way Black-leg vaccines. During the Breeding Soundess Exams, all bulls were vaccinated for Vibrio (Camphy labacter) and 5-way Lepto bacterin. Kansas is classifed as a Brucellosis Free State. All animals are ready for interstate transport. If you are moving animals out of state, make sure to stop by and pick up your Health Papers. If bulls are to be delivered at a later date, Health Papers will accompany their shipment. DASH Sons SPRING VALLEY COW HERD Our cows are handled much like the commercial cows in our area. Pasture from May to November, stocks, either milo or corn, thru January then they are taken to our calving pasture the first of February down along the Solomon River, 10 miles from our house. There, they are fed ground hay (cane, prairie hay, alfalfa) with some silage. We have calved down by the river for many years. Other than when we have a very bad winter storm, the cows are checked twice a day. Being that far from the cows calving has taught us over the years to be very selective which bulls we use for such traits as calving ease, udder quality, and disposition. You, the buyer, have total control of the bull and 100% of the salvage value belongs to you. The reason for retaining this semen interest is simple. Many of these bulls have the individual performance, pedigree, EPDs and carcass merit to develop into outstanding sires, but the truly superior sires that we need to advance our program and provide a better product for you, our customers, are not being identified until later in life after progeny records increase their predictability. If and when we would like semen on any of these bulls, we would collect the semen in the off-breeding season at your convenience and our expense. If you decide to collect semen for your own account the semen is 100% yours. The number of bulls on which a high volume of semen is sold is relatively small, but in the event semen sales develop on any of these bulls, we and you, as the bull owner, will share the net revenues.
