Huddle Up for Autism Story FAMILY FUN DAY Benefiting

FAMILY FUN DAY Benefiting On my family and I will attend Huddle Up for Autism. Huddle Up is a family fun day sponsored by the Philadelphia Eagles and the Center for Autism Research at CHOP.

What is the Center for Autism Research (CAR)? CAR is a research center that is part of The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia People of all ages who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can participate in studies at CAR CAR also hosts lectures for people who want to learn more about ASD

Who are the Eagles? The Philadelphia Eagles are the professional football team of Philadelphia They are a part of the National Football League. I can see the Eagles play at Lincoln Financial Field and on TV.

Getting ready for Huddle Up I need to check the weather forecast and be prepared It might be sunny, cloudy, rainy, warm, or cold Depending on the weather, I may wear: T-shirt Hat Sweatshirt Jacket Pants

Lincoln Financial Field This is Lincoln Financial Field. This is where Huddle Up happens.

Public Transportation to Huddle Up I may take public transportation to Huddle Up (train, bus, subway). It might be crowded.

Parking at Huddle Up If we drive to Huddle Up, we will have to wait in line to park. Someone will show us where to park. When I walk in the parking lot, I will stay near my group so that I can be safe. The parking lot is very big!

Arriving at Huddle Up We will get in line and wait for the staff to open the doors of the SCA Lobby. When I get to the front of the line, a staff person will scan my Huddle Up ticket and give me a wristband to wear. Ticket Barcode Example >

Staff at Huddle Up People who work at Huddle Up are called staff. Staff help people enter the stadium and follow the rules. If I get lost or have a question, I can ask one of the staff.

Escalators & Elevators Once we are in the lobby, we can ride the escalators or the elevators up to the Club Level. Or, we can take the stairs or ride the elevator down to the Service Level.

What can I do if I need quiet? It may be loud inside the stadium, but that is okay. If I don t like the noise, I can use earplugs or go to a Quiet Room.

What can Club I do if Level I need quiet? The Club Level has tables with information, arts and crafts, balloon artists, face painters, and more!

Waiting in Line I may have to wait in line to do fun things. This is okay! People wearing blue t-shirts that say Center for Autism Research may help me have fun while I am waiting in line.

Eagles Player Autographs If I get a ticket for an autograph, I will wait in line at my assigned time to meet the Eagles player. I can also take a photo with him. The line may be long, but that is ok! I can pick what the Eagles player signs. He can sign a photo of himself, a piece of clothing that I bring (t-shirt, hat, or jersey), or a football. I may not meet the player in this picture.

Eagles Cheerleaders The Eagles cheerleaders will be at Huddle Up. I can take a picture with them. They also hold a mini cheerleading camp. I can cheer and clap with them!

Service Level The Service Level is the basement of the stadium. I can take the stairs or the elevator down. It is darker and colder than the Club Level. The Service Level has tables with information, balloon artists, face painters, and other fun activities, too!

Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels Workers from The Philadelphia Zoo may be at Huddle Up with some zoo animals. I can touch or look at the animals. Last time, they brought rabbits, birds, armadillos, turtles, and more!

Field I can do activities on the field! I can run out of the Eagles Tunnel, do football drills with college football players, and try to kick a field goal! If it is raining, I will have to stay inside. There are lots of fun things to do inside, so that is ok.

Bathrooms As soon as I need to go to the bathroom, I should tell someone in my group because there might be a line and I will have to wait my turn. Bathrooms are labeled with signs. (Shown above)

Food at the Stadium There are many different types of food at the stadium. I will see food stands. I might have to wait in line at a food stand to get food. It is ok if I bring food from home to eat.

Buying Food and Souvenirs The food and souvenirs cost money so I might not get everything I want.

SWOOP A mascot is a character that gets people excited about the team. The Eagles mascot is called SWOOP. SWOOP will be at Huddle Up!

Going Home The staff at Huddle Up closes the activities at 2:45pm. I may be sad because I am having a lot of fun! It s time to go home. I will walk to the car or public transportation with my group. There might be crowds and lots of traffic on our way home. Huddle Up was so much fun! I can t wait to go again!
