1. AUTHORITY Round 1 of the 2018 CAMS Victorian Hill Climb Championship as a part of the 2017 Geelong Revival Motoring Festival (hereinafter referred to as ( The Event ) and will be conducted under the International Sporting Code of the F.I.A., the National Competition Rules (NCR) of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Limited (CAMS), the Speed Events Standing Regulations, Victorian Hill Climb Championship Standing Regulations, and any further regulations or instructions which may be issued, and shall be subject to CAMS PERMIT NUMBER 317/2611/01 The event will be conducted under and in accordance with CAMS OH&S and Risk Management Policies, which can be found on the CAMS website at www.cams.com.au 2. THE EVENT The event will be Round 1 of the 2018 CAMS Victorian Hill Climb Championship, conducted at Eastern Park Hill Climb, Eastern Garden, Herne Parade Geelong VIC 3220 on Saturday, November 25th and Sunday, November 26th, 2017. The track comprises of closed public road and is approximately 900 meters in length. 5. ENTRIES Geelong Revival requests all entries via CAMS Motor Event Entry online, found: www.meecamsau.com or www.geelongrevival.com.au. To request a printed entry form please contact us oncompetition@geelongrevival.com.auorcall 03 5215 1181 Monday to Friday 9:00am-5:30pm. Entries will open on upon publication of the approved regulations and will close at 5.00 p.m. on Friday, November 3rd 2017. Entries will be prioritised to those intending to compete in the rest of the 2018 Victorian Hill Climb Championship. The Promoter reserves the right invite competitors. The Promoters reserve the right to stipulate the number of entries for the Meeting, and select entries in excess of such number at their absolute discretion. The maximum number of entries may be 100, accepted in order of receipt. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entries in accordance with NCR83 of the current CAMS Manual. The Promoter reserves the right to review and exclude any driver who has been identified in any officially observed incident that bring the sport into disrepute, either prior or during the event. Certain public, property, professional indemnity and personal accident insurance is provided by CAMS in relation to the event. Further details can be found in the CAMS Insurance Handbook, available at www.cams.com.au 6. PERSONS ELIGIBLE The event shall be open to members of clubs affiliated with CAMS who are holders of a CAMS Level 2S 2SJ or higher License, and 7. DOCUMENT CHECK CAMS Licenses, Competition Records and current Club membership cards must be produced at Document Check and on request during the meeting. Document Check will commence at 8.00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, and 8.00 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017. 8. SCRUTINY All cars must be scrutineered and passed for competition prior to the commencement of competition on each day. Scrutiny will commence at TBA a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, and TBA a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017. 9. DRIVERS BRIEFINGS The attendance of all drivers is required at Drivers Briefings. Drivers who fail to attend such briefings may be liable for a penalty imposed by the Stewards. Drivers Briefings will be held at 9.30 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, and 9.30 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017. 10. COMPETITION Prior to official runs all drivers must complete a sighting run on each day of competition. Official runs will commence at 10.00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, and 10.00 a.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Each competitor will have a minimum of six official runs over the two days of competition. The number of runs may be reduced if the competition is interrupted. The starting order will be advised at the Drivers Briefing. Any changes to the running order during the event is at the discretion of the Clerk of Course. NOTE: Drivers MUST travel through the Holding Area and associated roadways at no more than walking pace Sponsor/Official Rides: During Breaks between competitive activities EVENT SPONSOR and EVENT OFFICIAL Appreciation Rides may take place. This event will include a Motor Sport Passenger Ride Activity (MSPRA) which shall be run under and in accordance with the CAMS MSPRA Policy. a) Participation in these activities will be by invitation only from the Event Organisers. b) All relevant documentation relating to Passenger in Vehicle Experiences is to be completed by ALL Drivers and ALL Passengers prior to the activity commencing. c) Minimum License requirement for the Driver is a current Level 2S/2SJor superior CAMS License. d) Drivers are to be briefed separately to the Event Drivers Briefing and prior to the activity commencing. e) Passengers are to be briefed immediately before the activity commences. f) Vehicles must complete scrutiny prior to the activity commencing. g) Clothing and apparel requirements for this activity are as per Article15 of these Supplementary Regulations. 11. Where there are sufficient entries, further classes may be created. Competitors in Historic Other must provide a Certificate of Description for their vehicle. 12. TIMING Timing will be electronic, and be to one hundredth of a second (0.01). Event winners will be those competitors with the fastest time for a single run in each class. In the event of a tie, the next fastest official time of each competitor will determine the event winner. Timekeepers will be considered Judges of Fact. 13. PROTESTS Any protests must be lodged in accordance with Part XII of the NCR. 14. ABANDONMENT The Promoters reserve the right to abandon, postpone or cancel the meeting in accordance with NCR 59. 15. SAFETY - DRIVER All apparel shall be in accordance with Schedule D of the current CAMS Manual. This includes the following: a) Safety helmets. b) Clothing of a non-flammable material shall extend from neck to wrist and ankle. Driving suits and gloves are encouraged but are not mandatory. c) Shoes with leather uppers that cover the foot. Racing shoes to FIA8856-2000 are encouraged but are not mandatory. d) All open Sports and Racing Car drivers must wear goggles or a visor with plastic lenses complying withas1609/1981.glass lenses, whether laminated or not, are unacceptable. 16. SAFETY - CARS All vehicles competing in the 2018 CAMS Victorian Hill Climb Championship must a) comply with Schedules A and B of the current CAMS Manual of Motor Sport, and b) Be the subject of a CAMS Log Book, and c) Must be fitted with a fire extinguisher conforming to Schedule H of the current CAMS Manual of Motorsport. 17. FUEL & REFUELING Subject to approval, refueling will be available. All fuel must be carried in and approved container and delivered to the designated refueling area and placed in the storage bund as soon as possible. A maximum of 20lt per car per day can be stored. No fuel can be stored in trailers, tender vehicles or outside the designated refueling area. Refueling must be carried out in the designated refueling area and requires two people, one to refuel the vehicle and one to man the provided fire extinguisher. PLEASE NOTE: Updated information will be provided in the Further Regulations once a final discussion has been agreed to by the key stakeholders 18. NOISE All vehicles must not exceed 95dB(A) when measured 30m from the track edge at 30meters 19. IDENTIFICATION a) All competing vehicles, with the exception of 5 th Category Historic Cars, may be required to carry event or championship decals, and b) All competing vehicles are required to carry vehicle numbers as stated in the Victorian Hill Climb Championship Standing Regulations, and c) Competitors who have Registered VHC numbers will be given preference for that number. 20. ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND OTHER SUBSTANCES Any holder of a CAMS Competition or Officials license (or equivalent license issued by another ASN) may be tested for the presence of drugs (or other banned substances) and subject to a penalty(ies) for a breach in accordance with the CAMS Anti-Doping Policy and/or the CAMS Illicit Drugs in Sport (Safety Testing) Policy as published on the CAMS website. Consumption of alcohol in the paddock, pits or any section of the competition venue/course under the control of the Officials is forbidden until all competition is concluded each day. Accordingly, any holder of a CAMS Competition or Officials license (or equivalent license issued by another ASN) may also be tested for the presence of alcohol by a CAMS Accredited Testing Official (CATO) in accordance with the CAMS Standard Operating Procedure for Breath Alcohol Testing. 21. DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, INFRASTRUCTURE AND EQUIPMENT Crews involved in accidents resulting in property damage are advised that they may be required to pay up to the first $1000 of any claim to rectify such property damage. Certain public, property, professional indemnity and personal accident insurance is provided by CAMS in relation to the event. Further details can be found in the CAMS Insurance Handbook, available at www.cams.com.au. 22. AWARDS Awards will be awarded for first, second and third placing's in each class. In addition, a trophy will be awarded for the Outright 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd placing's of the day. Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the competition. 23. RESULTS Live timing during the event will be available via the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival Website www.geelongrevival.com.au 24. CAMPING ON SITE No camping will be offered on site.
