Supplementary Report: Scone 8/8/17: Race 5: Anticipate R Thompson (Plaisir), was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137a), in that near the 600m, he allowed his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of Anticipate, which was crowded onto Megalopolis, struck the heels of that runner and fell. Taking into account all the circumstances, including R Thompson s riding record which details more than 7,000 rides, since his last suspension under this rule, his license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence 31/10/17 and expire 11/11/17 on which day he may resume. General: Muswellbrook Trackwork: 7/10/17: Licensed stable hand rider Ms. E Wallbank, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR175(k), in that she was in breach of AR82, in that on Saturday 7/10/17 she did, whilst riding trackwork on the Muswellbrook racecourse, use with an apparatus known as a selfie stick, a mobile phone, to take several photographs of herself mounted at various gaits, whilst working with another ridden horse and posting such images on a social media platform. E Wallbank was fined $1500. Acting under AR196(4), Ms. Wallbank was advised that $750 of that penalty would be suspended for a
period to expire 24/10/18, should she not offend under this or similar rules during this time. General: Tamworth Trackwork: 20/10/17: Licensed Stable hand rider B Cummins was fined $100 (AR175k) for accessing his mobile phone whilst mounted on a horse which was walking to the gap area of the racecourse. Race 1: Maiden Handicap 900m Arleta slow to begin, then raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Sushi was hampered at the entrance to the home straight. Wrongfully Wrong raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Carlington slow to begin. Santa Clara raced greenly for some distance at the entrance to the home straight. Race 2: Maiden Plate 1500m I Am Baymax when questioned in relation to his ride in the early stages, G Ryan explained that his instructions had been explicit that he should not lead and he attempt to obtain cover midfield. He said that after beginning well from his wide barrier he was trapped wide and his mount over raced whilst he attempted unsuccessfully to obtain a position in accordance with his instructions. He said that after this I Am Baymax continued to race fiercely without cover and with the benefit of hindsight he should have ignored his instructions and allowed it to stride freely after the start. Kulnura dislodged A Bullock behind the barrier who was uninjured. After cantering a short distance and being recaptured, the gelding was returned to the start and passed fit by the club s veterinary officer. Sonneteer slow to begin. Undertaker attempted to buck for some distance in the early stages. Trainer Mr. L Roberts was advised that prior to racing again, undertaker would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. Just Bute slow to begin.
Rodeo Destiny slow to begin, then hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: Maiden Plate 1280m I wear Prada had to be checked when crowded at the start, then had to be checked again approaching the home turn when racing in restricted room and behind a weakening runner. Litt Up began very awkwardly, then hung out and raced intractably for some distance in the early stages. Trainer Mr. T McIntosh was advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings racing record. Matchfox was hampered passing the 300m and again near the 200m. Smith had to be steadied when hanging out and momentarily crowded passing the 1000m, then hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight. Sepoised had to be steadied passing the 1100m. The rider C Reith pleaded guilty to a charge under AR145, in that he did return to scale after finishing in second position and weigh in, in excess of 1 kilogram over the filly s declared weight. Taking into account all the circumstances, including the significance of the race meetings encompassed in penalty, C Reith s license to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence 29/10/17 and expire 8/11/17, on which day he may resume. American General raced fiercely with its head up during the early stages. Race 4: Class 1 & Maiden Plate 1750m Finnero slow to begin. Sunday Swindler the rider S Guymer will be interviewed relative to his use of the whip at a date to be fixed. Mister Rossa the rider J Adams was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts at least hands and heels to the end of every race wherever possible. Olive Beauty trainer Mr. M Lunn was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the mare s racing record.
Race 5: Open Handicap 1450m Next Level slow to begin. Pippi s Pride raced fiercely in the early stages. C Williams (Puzzling Wonder), in the presence of RacingNSW mentor Mr. P Webster, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding (AR137a), in that near the 1100m he directed his mount out when insufficiently clear of Pippi s Pride which had to be checked for some distance. C Williams permit to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence Sunday 29/10/17 and expire Saturday 4/11/17, on which day he may resume. Race 6: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1450m Trainer Mr. D Jackson was fined $100 (LR35) for failing to declare a rider for Celtic Tiger by the prescribed time. Race 7: Class 1 Handicap 1280m Smooth Truth J Innes Jnr (Kabelo) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding (AR137a), in that passing the 650m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Smooth Truth, which had to be checked severely. J Innes permit to ride in races was suspended for a period to commence Sunday 29/10/17 and expire Sunday 5/11/17, on which day he may resume. Red Cliffs trainer Mr. M Lunn was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the gelding s racing record. White Eagle slow to begin. Race 8: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1000m Trainer Mr. D Wagstaff was fined $100 (LR35) for failing to nominate a rider for Bite The Media by the prescribed time. As Yawood when questioned in relation to the performance G Ryan explained that although his mount had an unimpeded run during the race, it failed to travel strongly and when placed under pressure it was disappointing in its response and felt uneven in its action. Trainer Mrs. S Grills reported (25/11) that the mare had recovered well and upon inspection was sound. She said that she intended to continue the preparation with the distance of As Yawood s races increased. Dark Image raced ungenerously with its head up in the early and middle stages.
