WILLAMETTE PYGMY GOAT OPEN CLASS SHOW MARION COUNTY FAIR JULY 13, 14, & 15, 2018 25 YEARS AT THE FAIR There will be 3 NPGA sanctioned doe shows, 3 Master doe classes (minimum of 3 PGCH does), 3 wether shows, & WPGC futurity classes on Saturday. NPGA rules to govern sanctioned shows. Only does with original NPGA registration papers may participate in sanctioned classes. Transfers accepted within 90 days of transfer date. Original registration papers must be presented at check-in. Does over 6 months of age should be tattooed or micro chipped before the day of the show. Registration papers not required for wethers. Only goats in good health will be allowed at the show. Please do not bring goats with contagious diseases, even lice, to the show. Please enter through the GOLD gate behind the horse barns. We will be located in the middle of the Livestock Pavilion. SHOW TIMES: Friday show will start at 11 AM. Shows on Saturday & Sunday will start at 10 AM on both days. Futurity classes will be held Saturday after the sanctioned doe classes. Futurity entries are eligible to be shown in the sanctioned classes JUDGES: Friday, July 13, 2018 Gail DeGough Pygmy Productions Soledad, CA Saturday, July 14, 2018 April Seiler Ahsum Pygmies Peoria, AZ Sunday, July 15. 2018 Terry Heath Timberland Farm Lakebay, WA ARRIVAL TIME: All goats must be in place by 10 AM on Friday July 13, 2018 and all vehicles must be removed from the fairgrounds by 9:30 AM. Release time will be 6 PM on Sunday, July 15. Exhibitors can arrive on Thursday July 12 between noon and 5 PM. Exhibitors can also arrive Friday July 13 before 9:30 AM. Vehicles cannot be driven into the pavilion during fair hours. CHECK-IN: Check-in will be by 10:00 AM on Friday, July 13. All goats must be checked in before the start of the show. ENTRY FEES: $7.00 per goat per class for WPGC members, $8.00 per goat per class for non-members. Entries must be post marked by June 29, 2018. If the entry is postmarked after June 29, 2018 there will be late fee of an additional $4.00 per goat per class Changes within the same class will be accepted after the deadline without a late fee. No refunds of entry fees for any reason will be made after June 29, 2018. Showmanship fees are $2.00 per class, free for club members on Sunday. PENS: $7.00 per pen which includes straw bedding. One tack pen (to be used for tack only) will be provided to all exhibitors at no charge. Additional tack pens can be reserved for $7.00/pen. Please remember you are at a fair it is important to keep your area clean. Decorations and information about the goats are always welcome. SPONSORSHIPS: Your donation as a Class Sponsor for $10.00 or a Champion Class Sponsor for $15.00 would be appreciated. Names and farm or company affiliations for all donators will be printed in the program. Or place a business card ad in the program for $5.00. FAIR FUN: Great get-the-gate prizes all 3 days. The wether classes will be JACKPOT WETHER. One-half of the wether entry fees will be split between the champion and reserve champion wether each day. Showmanship classes free for WPGC members on Sunday 07/15. Plan on the exhibitors get together at a nearby restaurant on Saturday night. Sign up and details at the show. This is our 25 th anniversary at the fair. Join us for cake after the Friday club meeting. FACILITIES: There are several motels to choose from in a variety of price ranges. Best Western (503-390-3200 or 800-832-3905) is located near exit #258 and is about 1 mile from the fairgrounds. The Traveler s Inn (503-581-2444) is closest to the fairgrounds. Other motels are located at exit #256. Please call for other motel information. Camping is available on the fairgrounds. Go southwest on Portland Road to Lana Avenue. Take a left on Lana and go to the next signal Silverton Road. Go across Silverton into the main parking lot and follow the road back to the horse barn area and the Gold gate. Unload on the east side of the Livestock Pavilion. We will be located in the middle of the Livestock Pavilion. Motels are located at exit #258, the Market Street exit #256, and at exit #253.
