WED., DEC. 23, 2015 QUICKEN LOANS ARENA CLEVELAND, OH TV: FSO RADIO: WTAM 1100 AM / 100.7 WMMS / LA MEGA 87.7 FM 7:00 PM EST CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (18-7) VS. NEW YORK KNICKS (14-15) 2015-16 CLEVELAND CAVALIERS GAME NOTES OVERALL GAME # 26 HOME GAME # 14 CAVS QUICK FACTS * Ranks 4th in NBA ^ Ranks 9th in NBA The Cleveland Cavaliers will wrap up their three-game homestand tonight when they face the New York Knicks for the third time in 2015-16. The two teams will complete their regular season series on March 26 in New York. Cleveland has won four straight games over the Knicks, which includes two victories this season (96-86 on Nov. 4 and 90-84 on Nov. 13). The Cavaliers defense has held New York to an average of 85.0 points on.380 shooting from the field this season, limiting the Knicks to under 90 points and.400 shooting in both contests. Coming into tonight s contest, the Cavs have won five straight games and are an Eastern Conference-best 18-7 (.720) on the season. Cleveland also has the best home record in the conference at 12-1. Since Jan. 19 of last season, Cleveland holds a 32-2 regular season record at The Q. During their five-game winning streak, Cleveland has outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points (103.4-87.8), while also holding the edge in field goal percentage (.493-.405), three-point percentage (.429-.296), assists (23.4-18.6), points in the paint (47.6-32.4), fast break points (13.4-7.4) and rebounding (40.6-38.4). Cleveland has held its last four opponents to a combined.379 shooting from the field. In a 108-86 win over Philadelphia on Sunday, the Cavs held the 76ers to 30-86 (.349) shooting from the field, including 10-44 (.227) shooting in the second and third quarters. During those two periods, the Cavs outscored the Sixers, 67-35. MILESTONE ALERT: J.R. Smith needs 1 three-pointer to pass Mike Bibby (1,517) for 23 rd all-time in NBA history. LeBron James needs 1 assist to pass John Lucas (6,454) for 23 rd all-time in assists. James also needs one double-double to reach 300 for his career and would become the 12 th active player to accomplish that feat. With 582 games played, Anderson Varejao can pass Mark Price (582) for 7 th place in CAVS history. LeBron James, who surpassed Reggie Theus (6,453) for 24th all-time in assists and tied John Lucas (6,454) for 23rd all-time in NBA history with his fourth assist in Sunday s win over Philadelphia, is averaging 27.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.0 block in 37.0 minutes against the Knicks this season. Kyrie Irving made his season debut in Sunday s win against the Sixers, tallying 12 points, four assists and two steals in 17 minutes of action. In 12 career games against New York, Irving is averaging 26.0 points, his 3 rd -highest scoring average against any NBA team behind only Houston (27.5) and Portland (27.0). Matthew Dellavedova has scored in double figures in six of the last eight contests, averaging 12.0 points on.500 shooting, including.581 (18-31) from the three-point line, and 4.4 assists in 31.0 minutes over that span. In the win over Philadelphia, Dellavedova scored a season-high 20 points on 7-10 (.700) shooting, including a 4-6 (.667) mark from three-point territory, and added two blocks and two steals in 23 minutes off the bench. On the season, he is now shooting a team-high.461 from beyond the arc, which ranks 4 th in the NBA. The Cavs have won 36 consecutive regular season games at The Q when scoring at least 100 points (since March 25, 2014). They have reached the century mark in scoring in 10 of their 13 home contests this season. Over the last seven contests, Timofey Mozgov is shooting.722 (26-36) from the field. Cleveland has won 30 consecutive games when allowing 96 points or less (regular+postseason), the longest active streak in the NBA. (STATS, Inc.) The first benefactors of the Toy Drive will be the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain. The Cavs will host 100 members of the clubs, ages 8-12, for a holiday party at Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday, December 22. Players Matthew Dellavedova and Sasha Kaun will join the kids for life-size games, a photo booth, cookie decorating and more. They will also be able to enjoy the ZTE Snack Shop, chock full of food, drinks, and of course Nestlé Toll House cookies. Members of the Cavalier Girls, Scream Team and Spirit Squad, along with mascot Sir C.C., will also be on-hand for the festivities. Each child will then go home with a brandnew toy, which fans donated at Cavs and Monsters games during the Toy Drive earlier this month. The annual Toy Drive Party is presented by Step2 and is a part of the annual Cavs Season of Giving, presented by Nestlé Baking.
