Summer Skating at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club Summer Skating at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club runs under the direction of Brian Orser and Tracy Wilson along with an exceptional team of professional coaches. This is a private, members-only club. During the summer months, non-members may participate in certain club activities. Program Information Summer Schedule Summer schedule commences on Monday, June 18 and ends on Saturday, August 18. Ice Surface The skating rink is a modern well-ventilated rink measuring 190 by 87, ideal for freeskate, pairs, dance and skills. Summer Program Design This program is designed to emphasize all aspects of a skater s development, including the art of edge work, performance, interpretation and technical elements. Stroking Clinics Stroking clinics are led by a variety of club coaches, including Brian Orser, Tracy Wilson and Andrew Hallam. Off-Ice Classes The weekly off-ice program is taught by highly qualified and experienced instructors. Classes are sport specific and are designed to develop and enhance on-ice performance. Simulations Supervised simulations will be held on alternate Fridays (or as needed) in the specified time. $10 per skater. Jumping Harness This teaching aid is a helpful asset to improve your jumping technique. You may use the harness only with coach assistance. Video Equipment Many coaches on staff use sport video analysis systems such as Dartfish. Lessons The summer program does not include group lessons aside from the daily stroking session and off-ice training. All private/semi-private lessons are charged in addition to the ice fees. Coaching may be requested on your application. Friday Seminars Friday on-ice seminars will be led by Brian Orser, Tracy Wilson, and special guest instructors. In the past this has included Anne Schelter and Jeffrey Buttle. Dependent on the week s schedule a fee will be added to reflect the seminar cost.

Freeskating Programs All session assignments will be made by the Skating Consultants and may be changed at any time to the benefit of all skaters. Once assigned, skaters are expected to adhere to their specific schedule. The following guidelines will be used: SOCHI Skaters working on STAR 1 tests, up to and including STAR 6. TORINO Recommended that the skater has competed at the STAR 4 level or higher. NAGANO Recommended Gold Freeskate test. CALGARY Demonstrating 2A or triple jump. Should have competed at the Junior level or higher during the 2017/2018 season. INNSBRUCK Demonstrating multiple triple jumps. Should have competed at the Senior level during the 2017/2018 season. Please contact the Skating Office with any questions about session assignments. Please include a recent competition report card with registration package. A video link to a recent performance is also recommended.

Membership Fees Club members receive a 5% reduction on a minimum 4-week membership if registered by March 31, 2018. All requests must be approved by Brian Orser or Tracy Wilson. 9-week registration will be calculated according to the 8-week fee. Adult Skating Programs Adult summer skating is available to skaters who are 16 years of age or older. Scheduled ice time Monday through Thursday includes 1 hour of Open Dance (mixed levels) and 1 hour of Adult General. All memberships include Saturday Adult ice times. Membership Fees (includes non-member fee) 8 weeks 4 weeks 2 nights $352 $184 3 nights $456 $249 4 nights $589 $316 Guest skating by appointment only: $30/night (2 sessions) Skaters must indicate days on the registration form. Adult session numbers may be capped by day at the discretion of the skating office.

Application Information All skaters must be registered with Skate Canada for the 2017-2018 season. TCSCC will complete this registration on your behalf. TCSCC reserves the right to alter programs and schedules without notice. Sessions cancelled due to Skate Canada tests or circumstances beyond the Club s control are not subject to refund. No make-up sessions/days are offered due to absences. Refunds (less administration fee of $50) will be given until Friday, May 4, 2018. No refund will be given thereafter aside from major medical issue. TCSCC members will have registration priority for figure skating programs until March 15, 2018. Non-Member Restrictions As a Club guest, your activities within the Club are restricted to the skating rink only. Non-members are not permitted to use other facilities such as the: Gym, Tennis Courts, Squash Courts The pool is available to skaters. Please enquire about drop-in fees. Non-members are not permitted to bring visitors to the Club. Minors may be accompanied by one adult only. Parking on the premises is for members only. Parking is available in the Armour Heights school lot on the north side of Wilson Ave., beginning July 2. Please sign in at Reception when entering the Club. Absolutely no outside food or drink is permitted in the Club. Each skater will be assigned a temporary club number and will have access to the Family Bistro. Skating Etiquette No skater or parent is permitted to interrupt a coach during another skater s private lesson. Parents are not permitted to enter the rink area during a skating session unless assisting with skate tying or at the request of a coach. Priority or right of way must be given to the skater whose music is being played, including pattern ice dancing. All skaters should familiarize themselves with the various dance patterns to ensure that right-of-way is given without risk of injury. Spins are expected to be practised in the centre of the ice. Skating Lounge The Skating Lounge and Snack Bar areas are NOT to be used as areas for putting on or taking off skates. The Skate Changing Room or rink area is available for that purpose. Change of skating clothing is only to be done in the locker or change rooms and not in the Skate Changing Room (rinkside) or the Lounge. Skate guards must be worn at all times when outside the rink enclosure. Skate bags, coats, sweaters and other items must not be left unattended in the lounge. Seating may not be reserved. Billing All summer skaters must supply a valid credit card (VISA/MC only) upon registration. You will then be assigned a temporary club number to which all of your programming and lessons will be billed. This number will also allow you signing privileges at the Family Bistro. 50% of the program fees for each skater will be billed by April 30, 2018. Funds can also be sent by wire transfer; please contact the Skating Office for banking information. No skating registration will be considered confirmed until this payment has been processed/received. Please note: 13% HST will be added to all ice and coaching fees. Summer School to Fall Bridging Policy Any non-member who skates in the TCSCC summer program may not participate in the fall skating program unless they and their families have begun a formal membership application process in August. Failure to initiate the membership process in August will result in the disruption of skating while the standard membership application procedure is followed.
