Lindsey Wilson vs. Shawnee State Lindsey Wilson Sports Information @LWCAthletics Women s Basketball Notes Scouting Shawnee State Shawnee State University enters today s game coming off a 77-74 win over Cumberland (Tenn.) on Thursday night. The Bears are on a seven-game winning streak dating back to Feb. 1. During that stretch the Bears defeated then-ranked No. 6 Georgetown (Ky.) and then-ranked No. 4 Campbellsville (Ky.). Shawnee State is led by Alannah Sheets who averages 20.1 points per game, the highest in the Mid-South Conference and tenth highest in the NAIA. Diane Abbady leads the team with 9.9 rebounds per game which is the highest in the Mid-South Conference. Abby Feuchter has 130 total assists on the year which is the 12th most in the NAIA. Chasing A Record With the win Thursday night over Rio Grande, the Blue Raiders matched the all-time home wins record in a season for women s basketball with 13. The record was set during the 1996-97 season. That win total was matched during the Blue Raiders 2008-09 season when Lindsey Wilson went a perfect 13-0 at home. The Blue Raiders could break the record if they win their final game in Columbia against Shawnee State. Matching a 22-year-old Record Lindsey Wilson tied a program record Thursday night with 34 free throws made. It matches a number set back on Dec. 15, 1992 against Sue Bennett (Ky.) College. Century Mark For the first time this season, the Lindsey Wilson women s basketball team finished in triple digits after scoring 110 points in the win Thursday night over Rio Grande. Senior Day Seniors Tara Arnold and Laura Skudra will be playing in their final regular-season games on Saturday. Arnold is averaging 7.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in her career at Lindsey Wilson. Skudra is averaging 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds per game for her career. Rematch in the Future Regardless of the outcome on Saturday, both Lindsey Wilson and Shawnee State are locked into the 4 seed-5 seed matchup at the Mid-South Conference Tournament. It is still to be determined which team will be the four or five seed. National Rankings Lindsey Wilson is currently ranked in the top 50 in NAIA Division I in 15 different statistical categories. The highest ranking comes in free-throw percentage where the Blue Raiders are 11th (.734). Lindsey Wilson ranks 13th in total scoring offense (2199 points) and 14th in field-goal percentage (.439). Tara Arnold Senior Guard, #15 Player to Watch Senior Tara Arnold is coming off a career-high 25 points in the 110-80 win over Rio Grande on Thursday night. The Frankfort, Ky., native shot 50.0 percent from the field while hitting 3-of- 5 from beyond the arc and making 10-of-14 free throws. Her three made three-point field goals, free throws made and free throws attempted are all career highs. Arnold has scored in double digits for three-straight games.
