THE LEGENDARY CHINOOK ARE ONLY THE BEGINNING...
When we opened the doors of our first sport-fishing lodge back in 1995, our business was based on the three simple things we shared with all of our guests; a love for outdoor adventure, the joy of entertaining close friends and an obsession with fishing in beautiful British Columbia. After almost two decades in operation, Westcoast Resorts has become one of Western Canada s largest, most diverse and most sought after angling experiences. As we move forward with plans to further enhance our offerings, we re proud to say that our original philosophy remains much the same and we continue to embrace the little things we ve been so passionate about since day one.
WELCOME TO THE WILD WEST COAST Westcoast Resorts is pleased to offer it s guests several world-class fishing destinations to choose from, ranging from the most southern on the west coast of Vancouver Island to most northerly locations on Haida Gwaii {formerly the Queen Charlotte Islands} - only forty-eight kilometers south of Alaska. ABOUT WCR These lodge locations have been carefully selected based on three concepts; exclusivity, remoteness and proximity to the most productive fishing grounds BC has to offer. In addition to the being surrounded by the breathtakingly beautiful pacific coastal rainforest, each unique and tastefully appointed lodge offers everything one would expect from a full-service hotel; personalized service, incredible dining, luxurious amenities in an unpretentious atmosphere. Our crew strives to exceed expectations every step of the way while providing the best quality product and service possible. OUR COMMITMENT Westcoast Resorts is dedicated to providing guests the opportunity to safely fish the most exclusive and productive areas the BC coast has to offer, stay in first-class lodge accommodations and enjoy the best service possible. Our management practices are respectful of local culture, maintaining strong relationships with First Nations coastal communities and minimizing impacts on the environment at all WCR locations. In the fall of 2011, Westcoast Resorts joined the HaiCo family. WCR is one of several subsidiaries of the Haida Enterprise Corporation [HaiCo] with interests in eco/cultural tourism, forestry, value-added wood manufacturing, aquaculture, seafood processing and energy. All fishing and premium foul-weather gear is provided, but guests may also choose to bring along their own favourite rods and reels. With the exception of our Walters Cove location where guests enjoy a fulltime guide, all packages include five hours of guided fishing instruction and have the option to upgrade to a guide 10 hours per day if booked in advance. Anglers may also opt to fish entirely on their own and Westcoast Resort s commitment is to provide you with a safe, supervised on water experience. For those that choose to take advantage of this option, your time on the water is only limited by the sunrise and sunset. Upon your returning to the lodge with your catch, our skilled dock crew will take care of filleting, vacuum packing and flash freezing your fish on site so it s as fresh as possible when boxed for your trip home. It s more than a fishing trip, it s a family built on the enthusiasm, passion and joy we share with our fellow anglers. Our smiles are just as wide when that first tyee is weighed in and we never get tired of watching humpbacks breech at our doorstep and we love being a part of your fish stories!
