INTRODUCTION An integral part of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), the International Karting Commission (CIK-FIA) governs worldwide Competition and awards the only official titles of World Champion and European Champion in Karting. In close collaboration with its Promoter the RGMMC Group, here the CIK-FIA presents the most up-to-date Championships which bring together the best Drivers and the greatest hopefuls of Motor Sport of the future during races of an incredible intensity. LE KARTING Invented by the Americans in the 1950s, Karting quickly became a great success in Europe and today is a fully-fledged motorsport discipline. K arting is a great school of life for young people and the best way to learn about driving and racing. The best route for the future car Champions, Karting is also practiced by enthusiasts who devote all their energy to it. The CIK-FIA Championships are open to drivers from the age of 12, with no upper age limit. Although the kart is basically a machine of simple design, the high standard of Competition makes it a very high level sport where ultra-competent professional teams confront each other. The spectacle provided by Karting events has an intensity rarely seen in motorsport. The closeness of the track, a succession of races throughout the weekend, constant suspense and the beauty of the struggle for victory make it an exciting discipline to experience for both specialists and the general public. In addition, karting is particularly suitable for live TV viewing and sharing on social networks. 06 07

THE CIK-FIA Created in 1962, the International Karting Commission is an integral part of the International Automobile Federation, as are the commissions of the other disciplines of motorsport. Its mayn missions are to ensure the unity of Karting, to promote and develop the practice of the discipline throughout the world, to develop sporting and technical regulations and to establish the International Competition calendar. RGMMC, PROMOTER OF THE CIK-FIA great experience in the field of its owner Roland Geidel, President James Geidel and the team that has been around for many years. CHAMPIONSHIPS The RGMMC Group is the Official Promoter of the CIK-FIA European and World Championships for the period of 2018-2020 (with the exception of Superkart and Endurance). Based in Switzerland, RGMMC Group is renowned for the 014 Increasing the audience for Karting Competitions, attracting new partners and working closely with ASNs (national federations) are the priorities of RGMMC Group. The Promoter also wishes to develop the communication and media coverage of the events by providing live video viewing during the events and by partnering with Motorsport.tv for broadcast around the world. 015
CIK-FIA SPORTING SEASON The CIK-FIA and its promoter organise three World Championships every year, true peaks of the season each decided during a single event. Four European Championships are also on the programme with several events each in addition to the International Super Cup for the KZ2 category. The CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy brings together the best prospects between the ages of 12 and 14 from around 40 countries around the world to compete on a one-make basis. The CIK-FIA also offers a European Superkart Championship and an Endurance Championship that fit into separate organisational frameworks. The Karting Competitions offer extensive track time to the Drivers during many runs lasting between 10 and 20 minutes. OK CATEGORY The OK category, now accessible from the age of 14, represents the pinnacle of competition for direct-drive karts, which in the past has been called Formula A, ICA and KF. This is where we find the greatest champions in the history of karting, as well as the best young hopefuls before they move to single-seaters. The confrontation is intense between experienced Drivers and young rookies. OK-JUNIOR CATEGORY The OK-Junior category is aimed at young talents who are learning their driving profession. The standard is extremely high and the competition is fierce between the 12 to 14 year old hopefuls who often race with big teams. The Junior class has long produced great motorsport champions. THE ACADEMY TROPHY, A GLOBAL PROGRAMME FOR THE DETECTION OF YOUNG TALENTS The CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy is a formula, unique in the world, aimed at training and detecting young talents between the ages of 12 and 14, pitting some 50 Drivers representing nearly 40 countries and five continents. They are tested on identical OK-Junior equipment, made available by the CIK-FIA thanks to the participation of the OTK Kart Group (chassis and engines) and tyre manufacturer Le Cont.
