DIRECTOR S CORNER It is time to think Hurricane. The warnings and advice have already been on T.V. The season begins June 1 but for us I believe it began about 10 days ago. They say we got almost 24 inches of rain as of late. We will now spend our days watching the news and waiting for the weather service to name a storm, and then wait days to see where it may or may not go. They use the spaghetti models to give us a visual track, and issue the warnings saying it is too early to call. They inform us that the European model is more accurate than the other models, yet there s a lot of room for error. So what should you do? GET READY NOW! We have Hurricane preparedness fliers and lists of hurricane shelters for the Port St. Lucie area at the clubhouse. Shelters are run by the Red Cross. You have to watch the local news to find out which shelters they will open for the storms. Get your batteries, canned food, and maybe some extra cases of bottled water. Prepare an evacuation bag with clothes and supplies to live for a week. The week before the storm, all you should worry about is cash, gas, and which way to point your car. E-MAIL BLAST We are debating an idea at the clubhouse and we would like your input. During the months of February and March we had several breakdowns of the recycle truck. That led to many phone calls and sign postings that took up a lot of time and caused confusion for all. We are considering beginning an e-mail list for all residents. Simply put, we can send out one e-mail to hundreds of residents when a situation arises. We know everyone does not have a computer but with a little neighbor to neighbor interaction we may be able to improve communication in the park. Let us know how you feel about this idea. If a positive response comes back we ll begin taking e-mails in May.. 4 th of JULY PICNIC & POT LUCK When: Wednesday, July 4 th Time: 11:30 to 1:00 Where: Auditorium & pool The picnic is sponsored by the Wynne family. From: The Spanish Lakes Architectural Control Committee Please submit all requests for exterior changes to your home or lot to your park manager. A brief letter describing the type of improvement and the materials to be used is necessary, as well as a clearly drawn sketch. A few photographs of the area you are seeking to alter will help immensely. We take pride in the appearance of our Spanish Lakes Communities. We hope you do too. We ask that you also keep up with the maintenance of your home and the lot that you occupy. We do not like to hand out notices citing home owners for the lack of maintenance of your lot, however, as we are a small community, a home in need of pressure washing or covered in overgrown vegetation affects all home owners in the park. Please keep up with the maintenance of your home throughout the entire year. Thank you Commencing March 1, 2017, all construction debris must be placed inside a normal number of trash cans. Any construction debris placed on the ground will not be removed by Waste Pro as part of your normal garbage pick-up. Waste Pro will pick-up construction debris as a separate pick-up, but will charge the HOMEOWNER $12.00 per cubic yard of material. We recommend requiring your contractor to remove any construction debris they create. If Waste Pro construction debris removal is required, please call Lois Cardinale at 772-545- 9390. The EZ FORM ACH is usually filled out if you want your rent paid from your bank account automatically every month.
