RIVERSIDE OAKS NUGGETS CONGRATULATIONS FEBRUARY 2018 H.O.A. UPDATES 4 & 5 PIONEER CLUB UPDATES 1,2,5, 6, 7, & 8, 11 F.M.O. Updates 9 & 10 CALENDAR On Saturday January 20 th residents Liz Pederson, Erma Hartman, Kathy Burgard and Nancy Stanton played in the Laird s Golf Tournament for Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce. Once again, the tournament was at Sunny Breeze Golf Course. 12 And once again this year they did not come away empty handed. Kathy Burgard won $85.00 in the 50/50 draw, Liz Pederson won two rounds of golf for a foursome each for Closest to the Pin and Closest to the Line and Erma Hartman won a bottle of Irish Whiskey on a door prize round. Overall the Riverside Oak Ladies foursome had a fabulous time. Congratulations again to one and all!

The February Ladies Luncheon is being held on Thursday February 22 nd at Carmelo s in downtown Punta Gorda at 12:00 noon. Meet at the clubhouse at 11:30 AM. Men s Lunch The February Men s Lunch is being held at Luigi s in Port Charlotte on Thursday February 22 nd at 12:00 PM. If you are interested please sign the sign-up sheet. Men will be leaving from the clubhouse at 11:30 PM. January s Men s Lunch January s Men s lunch was held at Chubby z in Port Charlotte. The wings were large and delicious and a must try. Donna Rupersburg will be starting up line dancing once again in the clubhouse beginning Thursday February 1 st at 9:30 AM. Please watch for the poster on the bulletin board. This is open to all residents so come on out and don t forget your dance shoes. 2

HOA News/Updates Earl LeBon - President Steve LeBon -VP Dan Hester - Director At the annual meeting of the HOA in January, three new members were acclaimed to the board, bringing the board size to six. Immediately after the meeting, as per the by-laws, the new board met to decide on who would take on what positions on the board. As a result of that meeting, Earl LeBon was elected as President, Steve LeBon was elected Vice President, Carl Taylor was elected Treasurer, Linda McDermott was elected Secretary, Dan Hester and Peter Goulah were elected Directors. Specifically, the officers and directors of your HOA are charged with vigilance of the financial interests between the HOA and the park owner with regard to; Ø rent levels increases Ø equitable application of pass thru fees Ø the qualitative interests in the availability and condition of amenities Ø quality and timeliness of maintenance of common grounds, buildings, and amenities, and Ø provided services such as landscape maintenance and lawn mowing; Ø safety and security issues such as lighting Ø pest control, and storm preparation; and Ø providing and promoting social activities and community awareness. Ø In particular, the Board is charged with the preparation and maintenance of an action plan should the Park be offered for sale. Residents who may have concerns or questions arising out of any of the above listed items, please bring them to the attention of one of your HOA board members. On Saturday January 20 th, our clubhouse was transformed into the old west for an old fashioned Hoedown. Entertainment was provided by Miss Birdie Lee. Sixty-two residents and guests attended and feasted on hotdogs, hamburgers and a campfire favorite, baked beans. And delicious desserts! A root tootin time was had by all. 5

Time is getting close for this year s tag sale. Please take a few moments to look through your homes, sheds, and outdoor areas for any unwanted or no longer needed items. All items must be clean and in working order. Our tag sale generates money for the Pioneer Club and is one of the Pioneer Club s largest money earning events. Your generosity in the form of items, baked goods, and time is greatly appreciated. If possible, please keep tag sale items until it is time for the tag sale drop off, however, we do have a couple of options, if it is necessary to move the items. Please contact Kathleen Harrigan if this is required. Item drop off: Items may be brought to the Clubhouse all day Wednesday, February 7 th, Thursday, February 8 th, and no later than noon on Friday, February 9 th. Any item dropped off on Wednesday or Thursday must fit on the stage and be placed in a box or a bag. Please only place on the stage as the tables are used for Bingo Wednesday evening. Note: if you have large items or need assistance, please use the sign-up sheet in the Clubhouse. Baked goods drop off: Baked goods are to be dropped off at the Clubhouse no later than 7:30 AM Saturday, February 10 th. Volunteer sign-up sheet is in the Clubhouse. Tag sale setup: Thursday, February 8 th (11:00 AM) and Friday, February 9 th (10:00 AM) we will set up tables, organize, and price all items. Volunteer sign-up sheet is in the Clubhouse. Tag pre-sale items: For those volunteering, they will be able to have first opportunity for buying items from 3-4 PM on Friday, February 9 th. At 4-5 PM, the residents of Riverside Oaks will then have the opportunity to buy items. If more than one person wants an outdoor item, a quick auction for that item will occur. Indoor items are on a first come basis. Tag sale will be open to the public from 8:00 AM 1:00 PM Saturday, February 10 th. NO PRIVATE YARD SALES ARE ALLOWED ON THIS DAY! 7
