Arizona Diamondbacks (58-79) vs. LOS ANGELES DODGERS (77-60) RHP Shelby Miller (2-10, 6.81) vs. RHP Ross Stripling (3-6, 4.15) Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 7:10 p.m. PT Dodger Stadium Los Angeles, CA Game 138 Home Game 73 (45-27) Night Game 100 (51-48) TV: SNLA/SNLA Spanish Radio: AM 570 (Eng.)/KTNQ 1020 AM (Span.)/AM 1540 (Kor.) SOUVENIR CITY: The Dodgers, winners of three in a row, continue their six-game homestand (3-1) with the second of three games against the D-backs following last night s 10-2 win. Los Angeles is a seasonhigh 17 games over.500 and leads the Giants by 4.0 games in the NL West, its largest divisional advantage of the year. Following the Arizona series, the Dodgers will embark on a 10-game road trip, their longest of the season, with games against the Marlins, Yankees and D-backs. The Dodgers 45-27 record at home (.625) is the second best in the National League, trailing only the Cubs (51-20,.718). The Dodgers are unbeaten in their last nine home series against the D-backs (8-0-1), last dropping a set to Arizona at Dodger Stadium June 10-12, 2013. Los Angeles has posted a 22-7 home record vs. the D-backs in that span, while outscoring Arizona 148-94 in those 29 games. Overall, the Dodgers have posted a 36-15 record (.706) against Arizona since the start of the 2014 season, the best of any MLB team against a divisional opponent during that time (Source: Stats, LLC). DOING IT ALL: Corey Seager, a top candidate for National League Rookie of the Year honors, finished a triple shy of the cycle last night, going 3-for-5 with a three-run homer in the fifth inning. Seager continues to rank among the NL leaders in hits (167, 2 nd ), runs (91, 5 th ), doubles (38, T-1 st ), total bases (283, 5 th ), batting average (.316, 5 th ), multi-hit games (49, T-3rd), extra-base hits (65, 6 th ) and slugging percentage (.535, 8 th ). Seager s 24 home runs are the most ever by a Dodger shortstop and are the third most by a Los Angeles rookie, behind only Mike Piazza (35, 1993) and Joc Pederson (26, 2015). He already holds the Los Angeles record for doubles and runs scored by a rookie and currently has the highest on-base percentage by an LA rookie, while approaching the team single-season rookie leaders in most major offensive categories: Los Angeles Rookie Leaders, Since 1958 Category Seager (Rank) Leader Hits 167 (3 rd ) Sax (180, 1982) Runs 91 (1 st ) Seager Doubles 38 (1 st ) Seager Home Runs 24 (3rd) Piazza (35, 1993) Average.316 (2 nd ) Piazza (.318, 1993) SLG.535 (2 nd ) Piazza (.561, 1993) OBP.377 (1 st ) Piazza (.370, 1993) Source: Stats, LLC THE LONGBALL: The Dodgers blasted five home runs last night, including four in the fifth inning, which tied a single-inning season high (also: Aug. 22 at CIN (5 th ). The club is averaging 1.22 home runs per game this year (167 HR/137 G), their most since 2004 (1.25 HR/G) and on pace to be the fourth-highest mark in Los Angeles history. Four Dodgers have powered 20+ home runs Justin Turner (25), Yasmani Grandal (24), Corey Seager (24) and Joc Pederson (20) marking just the seventh time in Los Angeles history and the first time since 2001 that four or more players have done so: 1977 (4), 1979 (5), 1997 (4), 1999 (4), 2000 (5), 2001 (4) and 2016 (4). Yasmani Grandal has homered in three consecutive games for the first time in his career and leads Major League catchers with a career-high 24 home runs, the most by an LA backstop (primary position) since Paul Lo Duca s 25 homers in 2001. Adrián González s home run last night was the 35 th of his career against the D-backs, which ties with Todd Helton for the second most all-time against the franchise, behind only Barry Bonds 39. In 46 games since the All-Star break, the Dodgers rank among the Majors best in team batting average (.269, 6 th ), slugging percentage (.454, 2 nd ) and runs per game (5.17, 3 rd ). The Dodgers slugging percentage is on pace to be the highest in Los Angeles history after the All-Star break, outpacing the previous mark of.434 set in 2008.
