4 INTRODUCTION CEODEUX MEDITEC SOLUTIONS Patient therapy and safety is our main focus in the design, installation, commissioning and operation of medical gas equipment QUANTITY OF SUPPLY Valves are designed in such a way sufficient medical gas capacity can be ensured in order to provide the required flows of gases for the intended number of patients to be treated at any time. IDENTITY OF SUPPLY All our products are designed, produced and controlled for a specific medical gas. All points to which the user or technical staff can connect are gas specified. There is no risk of misconnection. QUALITY OF SUPPLY Our valves maintain quality of supplied medical gases thanks to appropriate selection of material, components cleanliness and internal filtration equipment. Products designs ensure safe supply by minimizing ignition risks, by avoiding patient poisoning risks and by guaranteeing very good performances for accurate therapies. QUALITY FIRST... CEODEUX MEDITEC products are designed, validated, produced and controlled during their whole lifetime according to a very stringent quality system which exceeds requirements of ISO 13485 standard. DESIGN All our products comply with local and international standards. INTRODUCTION 5 THE MAIN MEDICAL GASES Symbol Name Application Source Type O 2 Air N 2 O CO 2 Air N 2 Oxygen Air Nitrous Oxide Carbon Dioxide Surgical Air Nitrogen Oxygen is one of the most extensively used gases for respiratory therapy and life-support and is additionally used in anesthetic procedures. Medical air is mainly used in respiratory therapy as a power source for patient ventilators, and for blending with oxygen. It is also used as the driving gas for nebulized drugs and chemotherapy agents. Nitrous oxide is used for anesthetic and analgesic purposes, being mixed with air, oxygen, and nebulized agents. Carbon dioxide is used less commonly now as a respiratory stimulant, and for insufflation during surgery. Surgical air (of medical air quality) is also used, at a higher pressure, to power a variety of surgical tools and other devices such as tourniquets. As an alternative, nitrogen can be used for the same purpose as surgical air. 12 INTRODUCTION HOW TO SELECT VALVES BODY MATERIALS Most Ceodeux Meditec valves are available in brass or chrome plated brass. Chrome plated or Raw brass: The most commonly used material for high velocity oxygen applications due to its cost effectiveness, good strength, resistence and low-friction flow properties. Gas Compatibility: make sure the body material is compatible with the gas type you will be using. Need more information? One of our material engineers would be happy to discuss the pros and cons of each option to help you choose the best solution. INLET PRESSURE Different models are designed for different inlet pressure to fit with your applications need (working pressure). For high pressure (200bar/3000psig) the Ceodeux Meditec valves range covers any requirements. The available options are clearly indicated on each product page. Please specify required inlet pressures when ordering. We can also accommodate special requests. OUTLET PRESSURE Especially for VIPR: different models are designed for different outlet pressure to fit with your applications need (working pressure). For low pressure needed in use (4,5bar/50psig) and for accurate flow (from 0-2 to 0-25 Lpm) the Ceodeux Meditec VIPR range covers any requirements. The available options are clearly indicated on each product page. Please specify required inlet pressures when ordering. We can also accommodate special requests. INLET CONNECTIONS Specific cylinder valve connections are required for each gas type. The most common connection types are 3/4-16 UNF and 25E.Other standards and dimensions are available on request. OUTLET CONNECTIONS VIPR: Specific outlet connections are available (medical connector types). According to your national standards the Ceodeux Meditec valves range covers any requirements. Valves: According to your national standards and according to upstream device to be connected (pressure regulator, flex hose,...) the Ceodeux Meditec valves range covers any requirements. Specific flow outlet connections are available (hose barb) according to EN 13544-2 and supplied from flow selector.
