WE RE BOSS WELCOME Welcome to BOSS Athletics the home of hard work, empowerment and positive interactions! We are very excited to launch the debut of BOSS Athletics and look forward to creating a community of encouragement where young athletes of all abilities can achieve their dreams. POLICIES ATTENDANCE POLICY All practices, camps, choreography and competitions are mandatory. When accepting a placement on a BOSS Athletics team, the athlete is expected to commit to always be present to enable the whole team to be successful. Missing or inconsistently attending athletes heavily affect the whole team as the team is unable to practice many aspects of a routine and skill building due to the safety factor. Our attendance policy at BOSS Athletics is that each child has a maximum of three excused absences (advance written notice of a planned absence such as a preplanned vacation) for the entirety of the season that they are eligible to use. No unexcused absences will be tolerated (work, homework etc.). If an athlete has an unexcused absence, they may be placed on probation. All excused absences must be emailed to the gym a minimum of 24 hours in advance, unless it is an emergency (or severe illness). Otherwise, absences may be considered unexcused. If an athlete is placed on probation due to attendance issues, and have an additional unexcused absence, they may be removed from the team or placed in an alternate position. If unable to participate in practice due to an illness or injury, athletes are still expected to attend practices to watch or do as much as they can, unless contagious, in which case they will be required to provide a doctors note. If an injury occurs (inside or out of cheer), athletes must provide a formal note from a physiotherapist which explains the injury, along with when they may return to training. If injured, athletes are still expected to train while avoiding the area of injury as explained in note from physiotherapist. COMMUNICATION POLICY All communication must be done through the owners, Carley and Sienna, and through the gym email info@boss-athletics.com or sienna@boss-athletics.com or carley@boss-athletics.com. If you have any questions or concerns about your child s coach, team, or teammates, please first contact the gym to address. We are committed to appropriate conflict resolution, and will do everything in our power to address any concerns swiftly. All contact must be respectful. Verbal abuse of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the gym. A 24 hour cool down period shall follow an issue to contact any BOSS staff to ensure communication occurs in a respectful or positive manner. Parents are welcome to speak to their child s coach(es) briefly after practice provided it is in a positive, constructive and professional manner. There may be times where the coach has back to back coaching sessions, and may be unable to have a conversation immediately. If there are concerns, please contact the gym to arrange a meeting with the owners, and the coach. Breach of this conduct may result in dismissal from the gym. PAGE 23
