TRI COUNTY LEAGUE RULES OF PLAY FOR 2011/2012 SEASON SECTION 1) DATES/GAMES: A Smith Division - September 24/11 to January 8 /12 AA Bowen Division - September 24/11 to January 8 /12 AE Harrison/Russell Divisions - September 24/11 to January 8 /12 Tyke Select - October 12/11 to January 29/12 A Smith Division play 28 games* AA Bowen Division play 28 games* AE Harrison/Russell Divisions play 28 games* Tyke Select 24 games *All Midget divisions (Major and Minor) A, AA, AE play 26 Games Any requests to schedule regular season games after the January 8 th and 29 th season end dates are to be reported to the TCMHL President immediately. ALL REGULAR SEASON GAMES MUST BE PLAYED IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR OM PLAYDOWNS AND/OR TRI-COUNTY LEAGUE PLAYOFFS SECTION 2) SEEDINGS: Seedings for League Playoffs, Round Robin Qualifier and OM Playdowns will be based on standings as of final season dates set out above. Team seedings will be maintained throughout OM Playdowns and League Playoffs, excluding Tie-Breaker games and League Championship series. SECTION 3) TOURNAMENTS: Teams are permitted two (2) tournaments during regular season. This does NOT include pre-season (prior to Division start dates above), or Christmas (week between Christmas and New Year s, December 26, 2011 to Jan 1, 2012)) Tyke Select are only permitted to participate in two (2) OM Sanctioned tournaments, and only after December 1, 2011. No tournaments are permitted during OM Round Robin Qualifiers (January 14/12 to February 5/12) except Silver Stick Finals. Centers (BB and below) who do not participate in Round Robin Qualifier may play in tournaments as per OM guidelines.
SECTION 4) RECLASSIFICATIONS FOR TRI-COUNTY PLAYOFFS: Requests for re-classification must be made in writing to the TCMHL President Any teams wishing to be re-classified in the Bowen or Smith Divisions must make their request in October to allow for decisions to be made at the November TCMHL meeting. No teams will be re-classified into the Russell Division for Tri-County playoffs SECTION 5) OM PLAYDOWN ROUND ROBIN QUALIFIERS: All teams, AA, A, AE will play Round Robin Qualifier format If teams are added into any Tri-County division, they will play the Round Robin Qualifier format. (i.e.: Owen Sound, Thorold) Round Robin Qualifiers to be completed by Thursday February 2/2012 to allow for tie breakers and or reschedules. 1-10 minute sudden victory overtime in all Round Robin Qualifier games 1 30 second time out per team per game Home Centre Officials for ALL games in qualifiers Divisions with two (2) teams will play a minimum of a best three (3) of five (5) series Divisions with three (3) teams will play as one (1) group in a six (6) game round robin Divisions with five (5) teams or less will play as one (1) group Divisions with five (5) teams or less will play a home and away with each team The top team advances from one (1) group divisions Divisions with more than five (5) teams will split into two (2) groups Divisions with five (5) teams or more will play a home and away against each team in their group Where a Division has two (2) groups AND only one (1) team moves on to OM Quarter Finals, then the top finishing team of each group will play a best two (2) of three
(3) series to determine which team will move on; this series must be completed by February 5/12 SECTION 5a) ADDITIONAL OM PLAYDOWN ROUND ROBIN QUALIFIERS RULES FOR AA TEAMS: All divisions will be split into three (3) groups for Round Robin Qualifiers The top team in each group moves on to Quarter Finals The winner of group one (1) plays the winner of Group three (3) in Quarter Finals The winner of group two (2) plays Area A (Tecumseh Shoreline) in Quarter Finals SECTION 5b) TIE-BREAKER RULES FOR OM ROUND ROBIN QUALIFIERS: As Per O.M.H.A. regulation 13.4e: A) If two (2) teams tied: Extra one (1) game played; home ice as defined in above noted regulation B) If three (3) teams tied: the percentage rule will be used to determine first, second and third places between these three teams (use Goals For divided by Goals For plus Goals Against); The second and third place teams will play a one (1) game playoff; the winner of that game will then play a one (1) game playoff against the first place team; home ice as defined in above noted regulation SECTION 6) TRI-COUNTY PLAYOFFS RULES FOR TYKE DIVISIONS ONLY: Tyke Select do not compete in OM Playdowns, they only compete for Tri County Championships. Teams will play a 10-game Round Robin format as determined by the League Tri-County playoffs can commence immediately following regular season completion Based on regular season results, there may be movement between the Tyke Select divisions to create balance amongst division teams. Teams may be moved up or down, and /or a fifth division may be created Only the BLUE PUCK is to be used for all Tyke Select games All Round Robin Playoff games are to be completed by March 8, 2012

The winner of that game will play for the League Championship series against the first place team. The first place team at the end of the Round Robin has home ice advantage for the Championship series. SECTION 7) TRI-COUNTY PLAYOFF RULES FOR ALL OTHER DIVISIONS (NOVICE THROUGH MIDGET): Novice through Bantam will play Round Robin format as per Appendix A Minor Midget and up will play a minimum 2 of 3 series as per Appendix B All League playoff games to be completed by March 8, 2012 Championship Series to be completed by March 31, 2012 League Championships are to be a best three (3) out of five (5) series

Novice through Bantam teams advancing to OM Semi-finals will NOT be permitted to return to League Playoffs, and any games played by these teams will then be removed from the standings and replaced by other makeup games as determined by the League.
