Major Changes to Rules for 2016: Exception to rule 6.6 A competitor is not DQed for returning a score for any hole lower than taken when this is due to failure to include penalty strokes that, before returning his scorecard, he did not know he had incurred. Penalty for rule breach and 2 strokes for each hole at which the breach occurred. Rule 14.3 - Artificial devices and Abnormal use of equipment. The penalty under this rule has been modified from DQ to loss of hole in match play or 2 strokes in stroke play. Rule18.2 - has been removed. If a ball moves after a player has addressed it the application of a penalty will be based purely on whether the player caused the ball to move.

AIG Cups & Shields Changes in 2016: Rounds 1 & 2 to be played on a home/away basis and to be played by the date on the drawsheet. Condition 7.4.1.10 - For the purposes of handicap, the District and National Final shall now be considered as one competition. This only applies to players on the panel at District Finals (7 in Singles and 8 in Foursomes) who will remain eligible to compete in the National Finals even if their handicaps reduce below the handicap range
AIG Cups & Shields For Rounds 1 & 2 Team may appoint a Manager for the Home and Away Venue. Home & Away Matches to be played on the same day at approx. the same time. Play Matches to a result. Team may have complimentary practice round if the host club permits.
Home & Away Matches to be played in Handicap order. Top of the draw has 3 top matches at home & 2 away Bottom of the draw has 3 top matches away & 2 at home
Points to note at your Club and Committees: - Girls whose handicap is 35 or less, MUST be allowed to play in all Ladies weekly competitions see 2016 Handbook page 65. - Clubs can nominate up to six Majors where restriction may apply see handbook. - Girls should be encouraged to take part in Munster competitions. - Junior convenor should be part of the Ladies committee. Continuity is the secret of a successful club
