Welcome to North Forsyth Little League Welcome to North Forsyth Little League! We know there are many activities out there for your child and we are excited that you have chosen to participate in our league. The attached Player Registration, Medical Release, Parent Code of Conduct, and Player Code of Conduct forms are required for registration and can be filled out, signed, and returned to us at a registration event or by e-mail. Please visit our web site (www.nfll.net) to find e- mail addresses. Also included in this packet are a couple Volunteer Applications, if you are interested in volunteering for a team position. One is for new volunteers and the other is for returning volunteers. If you filled out an application and volunteered last year (Thank you, we really appreciate it!), you only need to fill out the left side of the Returning Volunteer Application and update anything that may have changed on the right side. Please consider filling out a Volunteer Application. We would love to have you help us make this season a big success. Our league is run entirely by volunteers so if you would like to help please let us know. There are many opportunities for you to volunteer throughout the league. We are always looking for coaches, assistant coaches, umpires, scorekeepers, and team parents. You could also volunteer to help prep fields for games or helping with the maintenance of our facility. Our biggest need is in the concession stand on game days. The concession stand is our most important source of income during the season. We ask that each family volunteer for one shift per team in the concession stand. Concession shifts usually only lasts a few hours and a board member will be on duty for guidance. Please volunteer for concession duty if at all possible. Also in this registration packet is our Parent Code of Conduct and Player Code of Conduct forms. Please review these, and the included list of violations and penalties, and return them signed and dated with the registration form. As our fees do not cover all our expenses, including expenses for uniforms, equipment, insurance, umpires, utilities, and field maintenance, we look to raise funds through our concession stand, donations, sponsorships, and through a fundraiser during the season. Once the fundraiser has been decided on, we will distribute the information to the coaches and/or team parents, who will pass it on to you. All players, new and returning (excluding Tee Ball), will need to be evaluated prior to being placed on a team. Please check our website and Facebook page as we will announce the dates and times for the evaluations there. These evaluations are not tryouts, but instead are intended for coaches, new and returning, to evaluate each player s talent level so that when drafting teams they can be balanced. So please make every effort to have your child present for an evaluation. Teams will be selected shortly after the evaluations and a coach will contact you to let you know which team your child is on and when your practices start. We are planning a ceremony on the morning of opening day. Again, check our website and Facebook page as we will announce the date for opening day there. There will be an introduction of all league teams so please plan on being there. Our season will run through early to mid-june. However, depending on the talent level in the league and the ability level of your child, your child could be selected for an All-Star team to compete in the North Carolina District 2 Tournament with the opportunity to advance to the State, Regional, and World Series Tournaments. This is a great honor for our kids and we would love to send some competitive teams to these tournaments. We also know, and understand, that many families schedule their vacations during this same time period. Please let your coach know as soon as possible if your child will not be available to participate in the tournament, and the practices leading up to it, so that we know what our player pools look like. Again, thank you for choosing North Forsyth Little League. We are looking forward to another great season!
