The Show is held under the Articles of Association, By-Laws and Regulations of the Shropshire & West Midlands Agricultural Society, which accordingly binds all exhibitors and Other s attending the Show. The attention of exhibitors is drawn to the Show Rules and Regulations (enclosed in the schedule) and to the Breed Societies and Conditions printed in the Schedule. The Society reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Show, or any particular section or event, if such cancellation, postponement arises out of strikes, lock-outs, trade disputes or labour problems, or any other cause beyond the control of the Society including, but without limitation, Act of God, Governmental Act, Regulation or request, fire, accident, war, riot or an inability to obtain adequate labour, materials or sufficient number of entries. The Schedule is subject to the Orders and Advice of The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), and any Local Authorities which may be operative at the time of the Show. In order to collect prize money winners will need to present their Winners Slip which will be presented in the ring. Please note that if No Winners slip is presented then prize money cannot be collected. Any prize winning animals not paraded IN THE Grand Parade will forfeit their prize money, unless you have clearly marked on your entry form that your horse/pony cannot enter the parade due to being nervous. Other non-prize winning exhibitors are invited to take their exhibits into the Grand Parade on Show day. Any prize money not collected on the day will be deemed lost. EXHIBITORS MUST COMPLETE A SEPARATE ENTRY FORM ON BEHALF OF EACH OWNER. INCOMPLETE OR INCORRECT ENTRIES WILL BE REJECTED. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EXHIBITORS TO READ AND COMPLY WITH THE SHOW REGULATIONS WHICH ARE PRINTED IN FULL IN THIS SCHEDULE. Safety helmets should always be worn. Anyone riding a horse anywhere on the Showground is required to wear a properly fitted SAFETY HAT of a standard approved by the governing body and under whose rules they are exhibiting, MUST be worn at all times during riding. Ridden Section. Please note that the judge need not ride all of the exhibits forward.

Fall of Horse/Pony or Rider A fall of Horse/Pony or Rider during any class will result in elimination. The rider must not remount in the ring and should seek medically qualified attendant before remounting. Owners/Handlers All Horses/Ponies Must have a competent person in charge. Horse walks will be provided and Exhibitors are required to use these designated routes to access the showing rings and must obey directions from the Officials and Stewards at the crossing points etc. Exhibitors need to be aware that this is a busy Agricultural Show with large crowds and traditional displays performing throughout the showground: total segregation from both the general public and noisy attractions cannot therefore, be guaranteed. Exhibitors are not permitted to use the horse walks for any purpose other than prior to the start of their class and horses must be kept at a walk. Trotting, cantering or exercising of horses is not allowed on the horse walks under any circumstances and may result in disqualification. Horse Passports (England) Regulation 2009 requires all owners to obtain a passport for each animal that they own. Please remember to bring these passport(s) to the Show and have them available for inspection if requested by Local Trading Standards Officers. If you require any further information, please contact the DEFRA helpline or visit their website www.defra.gov.uk. It is the responsibility of exhibitors to ensure all animals are registered and they are members of the relevant breed societies. Judges The Shropshire & West Midlands Agricultural Society reserves the right to substitute other Judges/es from those printed in the Schedule or to make additional appointments, we also reserve the right to amalgamate class. Both without prior notice. It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to affect adequate insurance, including a recommended minimum of 1,000,000 third party liability insurance. The onus is on every rider who suffers a fall or any person who suffers an injury whilst on the Showground to report the fall/injury to the Show Secretary. Your Exhibitor Number/s, Lorry Pass will be posted to you, this is your confirmation of entry. One Lorry Pass per Exhibitor, vehicles will not be admitted through the Horse / Livestock Gate without a 2018 Lorry Pass. Showing Numbers If you have not received your numbers by 18th May please telephone the Show Office. The Society cannot be held responsible for postal delays and missing items. No Refunds for errors on entries will be given, if you are rejected by the Society governing the classes you enter. There are No Exceptions. Please ensure you are eligible to compete in the classes you are entering. Responsibility of Exhibitors Exhibiters are responsible for seeing that their exhibits are in the Ring at the correct time for judging of the Special Prizes, Cups etc. Equine Influenza It is strongly recommended that all horses and ponies shall have been vaccinated against Equine Influenza before being brought to the Show. Exhibitors are reminded that the Society will accept no responsibility for animals which contact the disease as a result of exhibition at the Show. Mobile Phones The use of mobile phones is not permitted within the collecting and judging rings. Timetable es may commence at or after the published time. The Society will not be responsible for any loss where exhibitor has made entries in more than one class and because of time over run it is not possible for him/her or the horse/pony to compete in one or more later classes. No claim for refund of fees paid or other loss, direct, indirect or consequential will be accepted or paid. Once a class has commenced trotting it is deemed the class is closed and no further exhibitors may enter the ring. TROPHIES/PRIZE MONEY To collect any Trophy won on the day, you need to take your Trophy Winners Rosette & your Trophy Winner s Card (given to you in the ring) to the Main Show Ground Office at 3.30pm. These must be shown and the trophy signed for by an adult connection to the winner. No prize money will be paid out until 3.30pm, if you leave before then you will forfeit any prize money awarded. All trophies

must be returned by the end of March 2019. If you cannot return or insure the trophies then please do not take it home. Grand Parade All horses/ponies entering the Grand parade will be presented with a raffle ticket, the winning number will receive 50 in cash. No refunds will be given under any circumstances. It is the Competitor s responsibility to be at the ring for their class. NO exceptions can be made for persons missing their classes. Where es are run under Affiliated Societies the Rules of these Affiliated Societies apply. Please contact Societies direct with any Membership or Registration Queries. Returned or Dishonoured Cheques will render the entry null & void. A charge of 25 will be made for each returned item to cover administration and exhibitors will not be allowed to compete until all outstanding charges & entry fees are paid & cleared in full. Shropshire County Agricultural Show Membership This gives entry to the Show, privileged car parking and use of Members Ringside Area. Please go to the website www.westmidshowground.com. Stallion Badges All entire males 2 yrs old and over must display a stallion disc. Stabling is only available on request, please see application form for prices. Hay and bedding is available but must be pre-booked. Each reservation period commences at 3.00 pm on the first day until 5.00 pm the following day. No corralling of horses or ponies is allowed. If horses/ponies are found to be corralled, they will be charged at stable rate. Lunging is only allowed within the area stated by the Horse Secretary on show day. Dogs to be kept on the lead at all times. A fine of 20.00 will be charged for Mucking out of Horseboxes onto the Showground. Litter Please ensure that litter is placed in designated receptacles or taken home with you. TICKET/ PASS ALLOCATION Each exhibitor will be allocated 1 Lorry/Trailer Parking Pass & 2 show tickets for the first Horse/Pony entered and 1 extra show ticket for each further Horse/Pony entered to a maximum of 4 tickets per exhibitor. Only Horse Lorry s and Cars Towing Trailers displaying the Relevant Vehicle pass will be admitted into the box park. You will then be parked and allowed to go to the Horse Secretary who will supply passes of the day. Please Display your Lorry Pass so it can be easily seen. SAFETY Where possible All vehicles must be on site and parked up by 8am and not leave the site until 6.00pm, If you need to exit the showground before 6.00pm, you must locate a Showground Steward who will arrange for you exit with the help of showground staff for safety reason. The Organisers of the Show have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organisers, and all the Officials and Stewards. All persons whether riding, leading, exercising, or exhibiting, must wear suitable and sufficient protective headgear and footwear. Riding Hats must be current and approved by your society.

HOW TO FIND US - POSTCODE SY1 2PF The Showground is situated just off the Baschurch Road (B5067) near the Centre of Shrewsbury from the M6, J10A; follow the M54 to the end -J7 where it merges with the A5. Continue along the A5 towards Shrewsbury. At the roundabout junction with the A49, turn right (north) Continue on the A49 (Whitchurch) until you reach the Battlefield Roundabout (signed/ also A53 junction) Take the 2nd exit onto the Bypass B5124 towards Ellesmere (A528) At the 2nd roundabout turn left onto the A528 Ellesmere Road towards Shrewsbury Town Centre passing the Audi Garage on your left. From there follow the AA signs to the Shropshire County Agricultural Show. Welcome MEDICAL ASSISTANCE Medical Assistance will be on site. Please contact your nearest Steward/Official who will call for First Aid. VETERINARY ARRANGEMENTS: Fyrnwy Equine Clinic Tel: 01939 260251 A Veterinary Surgeon will be on call from 2.00 pm on Friday prior to the Show and throughout the Show period. Exhibitors are responsible for their own cost of Veterinary treatment. Disease Caveat All entries will be processed in the normal way. If a notifiable disease problem occurs and you are unable to attend, we will refund the entry fee. Exhibitors are responsible for all work carried out. ACTION IN CASE OF FIRE. In the event of a fire occurring on the Showground the following action should be taken: 1. Notify the nearest Steward who will arrange for the Fire Service to attend. 2. Ensure that all other persons retreat to a safe area away from the fire and clear the approach roadways which will be used for access by the Fire Service. 3. Only if it is safe to do so, tackle the fire with extinguishers until the Fire Service arrives. 4. Any directive given by the Fire Service must be followed.
