Similarities in the Data At least 70% of participants from both school reported owning at least one firearm Almost 70% of both UVU and BYU students said they believe that law abiding citizens should have the right to carry on campus 10% of BYU and 12% of UVU students reported having a permit to carry their firearm concealed

Concealed Carry at UVU 12%* have a permit, and of that: 50% carry everyday 13% carry 2-3 times a month 25% carry less than once a month 13% only when they feel the need *10 out of 85

BYU Students Concealed 7%* have a permit, and of that: 25% carry everyday 25% 2-3 times a week 25% less than once a month 25% only when they feel the need *7 out of 73

How often on campus? UVU: 8 responses 50% never 13% 2-3 times a month 38% everyday BYU: 3 responses 33% never 33% once a month 33% everyday

Why carry? 89% of UVU and 100% of BYU students said they carry so that they will be prepared for any situation that may require a weapon in order to stop themselves or someone else from being victimized

Reason for results BYU students may feel less need for people to have a concealed weapon because they feel a stronger police presence at their school.
