1 Swimming Pathway Barker Foundation Aquatic Centre (the Centre) provides Learn to Swim (LTS) and Squad classes for children 6 months old through to adults. Lessons are held both morning and afternoon, including Saturdays and Sundays. Swimmers can enrol at any time throughout the year (refer Enrolments on page 5). The Barker Foundation Aquatic Centre Programs have many layers: Water awareness for infants Classes for Pre-schoolers, School-aged children, Teenagers & Adults Regular assessments and promotions as the child progresses Private tuition classes for all levels LTS classes for beginner and intermediate levels (Jellyfish to Turtle) are 30 minute sessions LTS classes for advanced levels (Goldfish) are 45 minute sessions LTS classes for Transition level (pre-squads) are 60 minute sessions All classes are conducted by nationally accredited swimming instructors and coaches For a child to progress through the program, frequency and regularity of attendance is essential, as this has a major impact on the rate of development Progressions Instructors, Coaches and Deck Supervisors are continually assessing students on an ongoing basis. The Deck Supervisor will advise the parent/ guardian of their child s promotion to a higher level. This may require a change in class enrolment which can be done immediately or via email, based on class availability. If parents/guardians have any concerns about their child s progress, they should contact the Centre and our LTS Program Coordinator will be happy to discuss their situation further Note: Consistency is the key. Our program is built with instructors who offer their commitment and dedication to your child s progression and learning experience here at Barker Aquatics. Too many makeups and changes to routine has demonstrated to compromise consistency. Swim Program Terms & Conditions 3
