family programming SOCCER Practice the basic skills that will set you apart as a soccer player. Come learn the fundamentals of playing soccer in a fun noncompetitive environment. Ages 5-8 -> Mondays 5-6 PM Ages 9-12->Mondays 6-7 PM KARATE Learn the skills of Karate, Jitsu and Judo taught by our highly qualified instructor. A great class for teaching child discipline, strength and focus. Ages 5-7-> Tuesdays 5-6 PM Ages 8-12-> Tuesdays 6-7 PM MESSY ART Tuesdays 6:15-6:45 PM Ages 2-5 Your little ones will enjoy getting messy with finger paints, pudding and water colors and you don t have to worry about the cleanup! PLEASE DRESS YOUR CHILDREN IN OLD CLOTHES, they will get messy! A material fee of $5 is included in price. PARENT & ME PLAYGROUP WEDNESDAY 10-12PM ALL AGES WELCOME Meet up with friends in the gym for singing time, a craft, a snack and play time! Parents can socialize while their little ones paly and make new friends. Registration is not required. MEMBER: FREE NON-MEMBER: $4 per child FLAG FOOTBALL Wednesdays 6-7 PM Ages 7-12 Young flag football players are introduced to the fundamentals of the game in our program. Players are led by Y volunteers in drills and games that teach offensive and defensive skills and positions of football. ADULT BASKETBALL Wednesdays 730-9PM Ages 15+ Looking for a time and place each week to play a full-court game of basketball? Each Wednesday we will reserve the basketball gym for open play for adults. Bring a non-member friend for a fee of $6 to play in open gym. MEMBER: FREE NON-MEMBER: $48 ZUMBA KIDS Thursdays 4:15-5 PM Ages 5-12 This cardio-filled class features age appropriate music and moves that get kids moving to the beat! It's all about feeling fearless on the dance floor, and reinforcing the idea that it's okay to just be yourself and dance like no one is watching. PARENT & ME TUMBLING Thursdays 5-6PM Ages 2-4 Learn the basic fundamentals of tumbling with friends. Children will develop flexibility and poise while also learning to work together in a group. Parents will assist children as they learn new exercises. LITTLE TUMBLER Thursdays 6-7PM Ages 4-6 Learn the basic fundamentals of gymnastics with friends. Children will develop flexibility and poise while also learning to work together in a group. ART SAMPLER Thursday 6-645 PM Ages 6-12 Drawing, coloring, painting, sculpting, origami...the possibilities are endless. Art Sampler gives children an opportunity to create personal art projects under the guidance of an experienced art teacher. A material fee of $5 included in price. IMAGINATION STORY LAND Thursdays 6:15-645PM Ages 2-5 Escape the day-to-day routine and explore the world of fantasy and adventure each week with our imagination story time class. Children will read a new story each week and participate in a craft or activity related to the story. TUMBLING Introductory to tumbling positions, drills and movements such as tuck, straddle, bridge, handstand, forward roll, cartwheel, round off and back handspring along with some strengthening and flexibility. More advanced students will begin to develop a basic comprehension of a standing back handspring, basic air tumbling, front walks and aerials. Ages 6-8 Fridays 5-6PM Ages 8+ Fridays 6-7PM BASEBALL CONDITIONING SATURDAYS 9-10 AM Ages 5-12 Baseball season is almost here. Get ready for it with the YMCA. Basic skills of the game are developed through practices and games, every child learns sportsmanship and values necessary to succeed in the sport. BASKETBALL Dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Come learn the fundamentals of playing basketball in a fun and noncompetitive environment. Ages 5-7 Saturdays 10-11 AM Ages 8-12 Saturdays 11-12 PM AMAZING ART SATURDAYS 9-10 AM Ages 7-12 Let your creativity thrive! This art class will introduce you to all new aspects of art. Your imagination can run wild with all the possibilities. LITTLE CHEFS SATURDAYS Ages 5-10 It s never too early to learn basic culinary skills. Join us for a morning of fun and excitement. Our little chefs will create special and fun treats, all while learning.
SWIMMING LESSONS BUBBLE BABIES 6 months through 36 months - with adult the primary objective of the Bubble Babies classes is to get both the parent and child comfortable in the water. Under the guidance of an instructor the class will help prepare the child for the preschool level classes and have fun. The child will be exposed to games that use basic movements, such as kicking, arm strokes and breath control. Activities are based on the developmental abilities of the child. One parent or guardian must attend the class and swim with the participant. 2 ½ YEAR OLD CLASS 30 months - 3 years old Is your child ready to swim without a parent or guardian (minimum age of 30 months required) or are pre-school age and have never been in a swim class? Water adjustment, basic stroke development and personal rescue skills are all introduced in this class. Parent must remain on the pool deck during the 30- minute instructional period of the class. The parent/guardian gets in the water and swims with child for the last 15 minutes to reinforce skills covered by the instructor during class. PRESCHOOL INSTRUCTIONAL SWIMMING CLASSES (AGE 3-5) PIKE This beginner level class helps children develop safe pool behavior, adjust to the water, and develop independent movement. Children will learn the basic paddle stroke and kicking with the use of personal floatation devices. They will also become comfortable holding their faces in the water while blowing bubbles and swimming. EEL This advanced beginner class is for children who are comfortable in the water. They are taught to kick, float, and perform a simple paddle stroke. Children can swim across the width of the pool without assistance by the end of this level. RAY Children begin to build endurance while improving their strokes and skills. They learn to swim on their front and back, tread water and perform diving skills. Children can swim the width of the pool on their front and back without assistance by the end of this level. STARFISH Children at this level refine their strokes while reviewing previously learned skills. They also learn underwater swimming skills. Children can swim a length of the pool on their front and back without assistance by the end of this level. YOUTH INSTRUCTIONAL SWIMMING CLASSES (AGE 6-14) POLLIWOG Beginning level for school-age children. No prior swimming experience necessary. Students are introduced to basic stroke development, personal safety skills, water sports and games in a friendly environment with peers. GUPPY This class is designed for students who have completed the Polliwog. Children will continue to improve their freestyle and backstrokes. They will be introduced to deep water swimming skills including personal safety in deep water, diving and treading water. Children will also learn rotary breathing, and will be introduced to breaststroke and butterfly. MINNOW The Minnow level is designed for students who have completed either the Guppy or Starfish level. This class will continue to introduce students to diving, treading water, increased distance for freestyle and backstroke, as well as deep water swimming skills. It will introduce lap-swimming techniques to students and will focus on stroke refinement and endurance. FISH Students continue to focus on lap swimming skills, stroke refinement and endurance. They will continue to learn about water sports and games, increase distance of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, personal safety and basic rescue skills. Makeups are not available due to space limitations and program design. To keep our class fees as low as possible, we will not be able to issue credits or make-ups for missed classes. Class credits may be issued at the discretion of the Aquatic Department if accompanied by a physician s note that the participant was not able to participate in a scheduled class. No refunds or credits will be issued for participant cancellation of classes after the start date of the new session. Low enrollment classes may be subject to cancellation. Thank you.
