Event information for west London is the world s greatest festival of cycling with 95,000+ cyclists participating in five separate events on traffic-free roads in London and Surrey. Events will take place in central London on Saturday 1 August 2015 and in London and Surrey on Sunday 2 August 2015. This booklet contains important information to help you plan your travel around west London on Sunday 2 August. was developed by the Mayor of London, Transport for London and London & Partners in partnership with Surrey County Council and is sponsored by Prudential. The event is managed by the London & Surrey Cycling Partnership. 2

Events on Sunday 2 August -Surrey Handcycle Classic the world s top handcyclists race over a 15-mile route, starting from Kingston upon Thames and finishing on The Mall in St James s Park. -Surrey 100 25,000+ amateur cyclists will take on a 100-mile cycle challenge through the closed roads of London and Surrey before finishing on The Mall. -Surrey Classic the world s best male cyclists will compete in this world-class one-day race through London and Surrey. This year the race starts 3 in central London before heading into Surrey and returning to London to finish on The Mall. The event routes through west London are on page 7-11. Other events On Saturday 1 August the Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle and Grand Prix events take place in central London only (City of London and City of Westminster). For more information about the Prudential RideLondon festival weekend visit www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk

Road closures on Sunday 2 August On Sunday 2 August there will be an impact on traffic in large parts of London and across Surrey. Roads used by the event will be closed so you ll need to plan your travel in advance. Cyclists in both the -Surrey 100 and Classic events will pass through west London on the outbound route, from Hyde Park Corner to Chiswick Bridge, and again on the return journey towards the finish, crossing Putney Bridge and travelling along Chelsea Embankment. The -Surrey Handcycle Classic passes through on the return route only. Road closure times Location Outbound route Knightsbridge, Brompton Road Cromwell Road Talgarth Road Hammersmith Flyover Great West Road Hogarth Roundabout Burlington Lane/ Great Chertsey Road Chiswick Bridge Inbound route Putney Bridge New Kings Road Kings Road Cheyne Walk Chelsea Embankment Grosvenor Road Road closure 07:00 07:00 07:00 07:00 07:00 07:00 Anticipated road re-opening 19:30 19:30 19:30 19:30 19:30 19:30 Further information, including details for central, south west, east London and Surrey, is available to download at www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/roadclosures 4

Local information Key roads Emergency services The A4 eastbound between Hogarth Roundabout and Warwick Road at Earls Court remains open throughout the day. Roads adjoining the event routes will have local access only for residents and businesses, with usual Sunday parking restrictions unless otherwise stated. River crossings A number of bridges in central London will be closed until the evening of Sunday 2 August. Hammersmith Bridge and Kew Bridge will be open but are expected to be very busy. Wandsworth Bridge will be open for local resident access only (no through route). Visit www.prudentialridelondon. co.uk/roadclosures for more information. Parking If you usually park on a road used for the event, please move your vehicle the night before. Vehicles cannot be parked on the event route from 00:01 on Sunday 2 August. Any vehicle left on the route or parked in a suspended parking bay will be removed from the route. Emergencies will be treated as a priority in the usual way. If you require the emergency services, call 999. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained and prioritised throughout all of the Prudential RideLondon events. On the day There will be stewards and volunteers positioned along the route. If you require assistance on the day that is not a 999 emergency please ask event staff to help. Pedestrian crossing points Pedestrian crossing points are located along the event route. These will be under marshal supervision to help pedestrians cross the road. Usual crossings may be suspended, but an alternative will be signposted where it will be easier to cross. Please be patient during the event and listen to instructions given by stewards and marshals. Public transport Some bus services will need to be diverted, temporarily suspended or will terminate earlier than usual due to road closures. Some stops may also be temporarily relocated. Check www.tfl.gov.uk for planned Tube & Rail closures, real time travel information and the TfL journey planner. 5

Borough Info Message from The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham To avoid delays, Hammersmith & Fulham Council strongly urges drivers to plan ahead and avoid the areas near the routes on Sunday 2 August 2015. Public transport, walking and cycling will be the best ways to get around. However, some buses will be on diversion or will finish early due to the road closures and tube stations will be busy. Message from The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Last year some residents underestimated the impact would have on local traffic. Because of this we are urging people to plan ahead and make alternative arrangements if necessary. The Council will minimise any disruption by suspending all planned works on major roads throughout the borough. However, even with these measures in place, traffic is likely to be extremely heavy. If you live: in the south of the borough, you will not be able to drive north over Kings Road or New Kings Road. You will be able to drive across Wandsworth Bridge in both directions (local resident access only, no through route) but south west London and Surrey will be busy. between New Kings Road and the A4, you will not be able to travel south over New Kings Road and Kings Road. You will be able to travel north via Fulham Palace Road but this route will be busy. north of the A4, you will only be able to travel south via Fulham Palace Road and only as far as New Kings Road. in the north of the borough, road travel will be possible but you should leave plenty of time for your journey. The event routes can be seen at www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/routes There will be restricted vehicle access in the south of the borough. For residents who live in the Lots Road area, surrounded by the event route, getting in and out will be aided by the lifting of the Townmead Road barrier, but again traffic will be very heavy. If you have a special event planned that is likely to be affected, such as a wedding or moving house, it may be possible for the organisers to help facilitate this if you contact them early enough. 6
