North West Cricket Announces Contracted Players Due to the restructuring of the Cricket South Africa League to a Semi Professional League, each affiliate is entitled to contract seven players. A strong development focus was intended when Cricket South Africa agreed to this step. The contracting regulations are strict to ensure the intentions are met. The seven players to be contracted for North West Cricket for the 2011/2012 season are: Brett Pelser, the team captain who made his debut for the Highveld Lions last season. Nantie Hayward, Ex-Protea fast bowler. Dieter Klein, North West and Highveld Lions Academy player. Jimmy Kgamadi, North West and Highveld Lions player. Johannes Diseko, North West Player. Kylin Vardhan, North West and Highveld Lions Academy player. Yusuf Bulbulia, North West player. North West Cricket CEO, Jacques Faul, added that Cliffe Deacon, Dale Deeb and Alviro Petersen will also be available if they are not on duty for the Highveld Lions. We wanted to reward players coming through our schools and Provincial system and balance this with experience, and therefore four of the players played North West School s cricket, while two of the other players played for our North West Senior team. Only Nantie Hayward was contracted from outside our own structures. We believe he will play a big role in developing young bowlers said Archie Pretorius, President of North West Cricket. The coach of the Dragons, Monty Jacobs, was very positive in saying we can defiantly compete with any one. Jacobs is keen to work with Kepler Wessels in conditioning the team.
