+44 (0)20 8741 7390 Long associated with some of East Africa s more luxurious safari experiences, Kenya can still offer up the more rustic back to basics style of trip that purists hanker for. This wild camping itinerary is filled with authentic charm and rugged wilderness, as you experience the country from the relative comforts of simple domes tents. Beginning with a night in Nairobi National Park, a surprisingly rich wildlife haven located on the edge of the sprawling city, you then fly down to Amboseli, where huge herds of elephants still sweep across the vast open plains. With the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro looming on the horizon, you ll enjoy the wild beauty of one of Kenya s most scenic and most photogenic parks. Flying on to the spectacular Maasai Mara next, you ll then spend the rest of the adventure exploring the wildlife-rich Naboisho Conservancy. Abundant in game, there is every chance of encounters with lions, elephants and rhino and, if you travel between July and October, the possibility of witnessing the Great Migration presents you with one of Africa s most incredible natural spectacles. HIGHLIGHTS: Spend a night under canvas in Nairobi National Park. Track huge herds of elephants in Amboseli National Park. Enjoy the views of the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Encounter the lions of the Maasai Mara. Experience the unmissable spectacle of the Great Migration. ITINERARY DAY 1: NAIROBI On arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta international Airport you will be met and transferred on to your comfortable lodge, situated in the heart of the Nairobi National Park. Depending on your arrival time you may have an opportunity to enjoy an evening game drive through the park, home to an astonishingly diverse amount of wildlife. (D) DAY 2: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK Following breakfast this morning you will be transferred on to the domestic terminal at Wilson Airport to catch the light aircraft flight down to Amboseli National Park. Famed for its abundant populations of elephants and birds, the park occupies a landscape of big skies and expansive horizons and a short game drive transfer on arrival gets you to the camp in time for lunch. Later there will be an opportunity to take an evening game drive through the private Selenkay Conservancy. (B,L,D) DAY 3: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK Your first full day on safari will be split between a morning game drive and an afternoon visit to a local Maasai village. This combination of game viewing and cultural interaction has proven very popular in the past and provides a fascinating insight into two very different aspects of Kenyan life. The remainder of the afternoon will then be spent enjoying the hospitality at the camp. (B,L,D) DAY 4: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK A full day to explore the vast landscapes of Amboseli today provides ample opportunities to see lion, elephant and the rich variety of game animals that make this park their home. Set against the backdrop of the imposing snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in neighboring Tanzania, the day will also include a picnic lunch along the way, taken beneath the shade of flat-topped acacia tree. (B,L,D) DAY 5: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK - MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES After a final breakfast in camp you will transfer back to the airstrip for the return flight back to Nairobi. Another flight will then bring you to the Naboisho Conservancy, set within the expansive plains of the Maasai Mara, one of Africa's foremost wildlife areas. The afternoon will then be spent relaxing at camp, before heading out on a night-time game drive later, where there is every chance that you will come across predators stalking their prey amongst the rich grasslands. (B,L,D)

DAY 6: MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES You will spend today exploring the main part of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This huge park is home to lion, leopard, elephant and rhino and, between July and October, its plains tremble beneath the hooves of thousands of zebra and wildebeest as they join the Great Migration in search of fresh pastures. Depending on the time of year, you may even be lucky enough to witness the spectacle and drama of their crossing of the Mara River. (B,L,D) DAY 7: MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES Your final day in the park will be spent on game drives and guided walks with the local Maasai. Relaxing back at camp in between excursions, the day is then rounded off with sundowner drinks from a spectacular vantage point in the heart of the Naboisho Conservancy, before an evening game drive takes you back to camp in time for a delicious farewell dinner. (B,L,D) DAY 8: MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES - NAIROBI Following a final morning of activities you will depart camp after lunch, heading back to the airstrip in time to catch the late afternoon flight back to Nairobi. Arriving at the domestic airport you will then be transferred across the city to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, to connect with your onward flight. (B,L)

ACCOMMODATION AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK SELENKAY ADVENTURE CAMP Selenkay Adventure Camp is found in the Selenkay Conservancy of the Amboseli National Park and offers guests an opportunity to enjoy a wild camping safari within one of Kenya s best big game viewing areas. The camp is made up of small dome tents, which are suitable for 2 adults, and although mattresses and pillows are provided, guests will need to bring sleeping bags and towels with them. The tents aren t en-suite, but they do have their own private bathrooms just to the rear of the tent, all of which have flush loos, bucket showers and hand basins. The camp is fully staffed and there is a central guest area where meals are prepared over an open fire and served in the spacious dining tent. This is definitely a no-frills camp but guests are very well looked after and the food is of excellent quality and drinks can be purchased from the well-stocked bar. Activities from the camp are in the form of game drives, with a maximum of six guests per vehicle. MAASAI MARA CONSERVANCIES OL KINYEI ADVENTURE CAMP Nestled beneath a grove of acacia trees within the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, the rustic Ol Kinyei Adventure Camp is an ideal location for safari goers looking to enjoy this game-rich part of Kenya, but without paying for the whistles and bells of most modern safari camps. Guests are accommodated in simple dome tents which can accommodate two adults and have basic bathrooms with flush loos and bucket showers directly behind them. The tents ae insect proof and comfortable mattresses are provided, although guests are required to either bring along sleeping bags and towels or rent them from the camp. The camp is staffed by experienced guides and hosts who are always on-hand to look after guests serve drinks and meals and ensure guests safety when they are in camp. The dining tent is the social hub of the lodge and guests are of course welcome to relax here in the afternoons. Guests are able to enjoy day and night time game drives within the Ol Kinyei Conservancy as well as day trips into the main part of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. They also offer guided walks through the game-rich conservancy which has a permanent population of lion and leopard to spot. NAIROBI

NAIROBI TENTED CAMP Found in one of Kenya s most surprising wildlife havens, the Nairobi National Park, Nairobi Tented Camp offers a wonderful introduction to the safari adventures that await visitors to Kenya for its enviable location within 20 minutes of both the international and domestic airports. There are just nine traditionally styled safari tents at the camp, all of which have en-suite bathrooms with flush loos and bucket showers where hot water is provided on request. Inside the tents are very spacious and comfortable with proper beds, writing desks and plenty of storage space. Outside there are covered verandas where guests can relax in the afternoons and enjoy the views out across the park. The main mess area of the lodge is another great place to relax with lots of deep, comfortable sofas, plenty of books to borrow and staff on hand to serve drinks. The food here is very good and meals are served in a variety of inspiring locations around the site of the camp, with dinner under the stars an especially popular option with guests. Whilst many guests simply use the camp as a convenient overnight stop between awkwardly timed flights, they do offer a range of activities for those staying a little longer including game drives, sundowner drinks stops as well as visits to the elephant orphanage and giraffe centre.
