With the panoramic views you get from below deck she also boast very practical living arrangements with various options with regards to cabin layout. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 DS has three large water tanks, a large fuel tank and plenty of deck hatches, giving excellent airflow when in hotter climates. This particular Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 DS had no expense spared when bought from new, she has lots of optional extras and is highly specified yacht. The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 DS has been maintained to a very high standard and her condition proves it is money well spent. If you are searching for a blue water cruiser that is ready to go this season then look no further and contact our office for a viewing! Owners Remarks: I bought Jenever in late 2009 from a retired engineer, she is a very practical boat with few gadgets. Everything on her serves a practical purpose, the way the batteries are connected allow the bow thruster batteries to assist the domestic batteries combined with the wind generator, means that you can do without shorepower for extended periods. The 75hp Yanmar engine pushes her along at 7.2 knots at cruising revs consuming 4 litres per hour. There is ample water supply to allow four people to live comfortably for a week including showers, without filling up. She also has an excellent size refrigerator and cool box that can remain on without draining the batteries. She has been out of the water each season, all of the anodes are replaced annually and all seacocks serviced. She has been berthed in Plymouth since I have owned her and the engine has been serviced by a marine professional, who will confirm the excellent condition of the engine. The rigging has also been serviced each year by Hemisphere Rigging, they installed a second mast track to allow the use of a storm trysail. I have a full unused set of storm sails bought in 2012. I have used Jenever a lot over an extended sailing season, she is insured to go down as far as Bordeaux although I have never ventured further than North Brittany. She handles like a dream under sail very light and responsive and also a quick passage maker, she will overtake most comparable boats. The in mast furling is a joy, particularly when it comes to reefing quickly and safely, we have been mid channel in a force 9 and were very impressed at how dry and safe she remained.
