Post Falls Baseball Club Letter of Commitment (10U-14U) The goals of the Post Falls Baseball Club (PFBC) program are to develop skills, confidence, sportsmanship, teamwork and to have fun with the competitive game of baseball. Participation in PFBC requires commitment and dedication from all participants (managers, coaches, players and parents). Attending practices and games are necessary to fulfill these requirements. As a member of the Post Falls Baseball Club, and his parents will abide by the following rules: 1. Always attend practices and games with good sportsmanship and respect for all players, coaches, parents and umpires. 2. Attend as many practices and games as possible, especially because my team will depend on me to be there for them. 3. Players will listen to their coaches, who are trying to improve their skills. 4. Understand that coach s are the ones who make the decisions on the field, including lineups, placement, and play time. Since this is a travel baseball team, I realize that I may not get the same amount of playtime as other players. 5. This is a team sport, players will try their best to always hustle and do what they can to help their team. 6. Players will notify their team manager and coach with at least 24 hours advanced notice if he is unable to attend an event. PFBC will do its best to provide as much advanced notice to schedule events such as practices, games and tournaments as possible. Once notified of a tournament date, all players are expected to make every effort to be available for the tournament and inform the manager and coach as soon as possible if they are unable to attend. Expect one practice a week during the winter season and up to 5 practices a week in the spring/summer season. While players are likely to play in every game, we do not guarantee minimum playing time requirements on our teams. All players and their families agree to pay the estimated non-refundable $350 season fee to Post Falls Baseball Club as well as participate with all fundraising activities. This fee covers field use fees (indoor facilities & outdoor fields), equipment, team league fees and (3) team tournaments. The $350.00 registration fee is due at the time of the Mandatory Parent/Player Meeting on 11/10/17 at Betty Kiefer Elementary in Rathdrum at 6:30 p.m. While our registration fees are expected to cover all players costs, additional fees may be required on a team-by-team basis for additional tournaments and other unforeseen team expenses. I have read, understand and agree to the commitment outlined above. Player Signature: Parent Signature: Date: Date:

Post Falls Baseball Club Parent/Player Code of Conduct I, as parent(s) or guardian(s) of understand the essential elements of character building and ethics are embodied in the six principles of sportsmanship: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. My responsibilities are of great importance and my actions have the potential to influence young athletes that observe my behavior. I also want the "Post Falls Baseball Club" to function with the highest possible standards for all our participants. I therefore promise to conduct myself in accordance with the following code: 1. I (and my guests) will treat all players, coaches, parents, umpires, administrators and opponents with respect and dignity. 2. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of the athletes. 3. I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others. 4. I will place the players first and the game second. 5. I will teach my child that doing one's best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of the game or his performance. 6. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard to make my child feel like a winner every time. 7. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making or losing a competition. All of my comments will be verbalized in a positive constructive manner, never emphasizing the negative. 8. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. 9. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability. 10.I will never physically or verbally abuse a player regardless of the situation. 11. I will never verbally abuse a coach or an umpire regardless of the situation. 12. I will not tolerate un-sportsman like conduct from my child or guests. 13. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during 1

games and practices unless I am one of the official coaches of the team or asked to help by one of the official coaches of the team. 14. I understand that my child is a member of a "TEAM" and will make sure my child is at practice and at games on time and will contact the coach if my child is unable to attend practice or a game. 15. I will not use Tobacco, alcohol or drugs during games and practices. No smoking, use of alcohol or drugs will be tolerated by any coach, player, fan, parent or umpire during games on the field. 16. I will not approach players or coaches before, during or immediately after games with anything other than support. 17. Most importantly, I will always ensure that my child maintains his/her right to have fun. All questions/concerns regarding players or coaches will be addressed the day after the game in an atmosphere conductive to problem solving. Parent Code of Conduct SIYB has implemented a Parent Code of Conduct to send the important message about the proper role of parents in supporting their child in sports. Parents are required to read, understand and sign this form and give it to the coach prior to the season starting. Coaches will need to carry the signed documents with them to every game (along with each player s birth certificate) in binder provided by SIYB. The SIYB Board will manage this through spot checks through the first weeks of the season. 1. Parents shall control emotions, emphasize the ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play. 2) Courtesy is to be shown to opponents, fans and umpires. No criticisms, direct abuse, yelling from the sidelines, profane language or gestures shall be made toward opponents, fans or umpires. Spectators should refrain from using any type of artificial noise makers, as such items are considered disruptive and unsportsmanlike toward opponents and umpires. 3) We will not question umpires' calls. Only coaches are allowed to address umpires. 4) Parents will remain off the field and out of the dugouts unless invited by the coach. 5) Parents will help emphasize team spirit, team unity, and team effort and teams success. 6) Concerns, questions, or ideas any spectator has for any coach should be handled tactfully away from the field. 7) Please assist the league's reputation by leaving each dugout, ball park, tournament site and each situation in better shape than we found them. Our organizations goal is to ensure that our players, coaches, teams and parents have the best baseball experience possible. We believe that adherence to the above rules should ensure this goal. Realistically, there may be times that disciplinary action will need to be taken: Any SIYB Board Member, Commissioner or any on duty umpire can remove a parent (or guest of any parent) that acts in an inappropriate manner from the ballpark/facility. They will also be suspended from the following game. Repeat violations may lead to a full season, one year suspension and in severe cases permanent suspension.
