Lewiston 4 th of July Rodeo Queen Contest Check in and warm up at 4:00 We will clear the arena and contest begins @ 4:0 pm youngest age groups first Lewiston Rodeo Arena June 14 th, 2014 Entries due May 1st Rules and Requirements 1. Mini-miss 5 and under, Princess ages 6-, Jr. Queen 9-1 years, Queen category 14-2 as of Jan 1st. 2. Required dress for the contest includes jeans, a long sleeve shirt, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.. If chosen to be in the Lewiston July 4 th Rodeo Royalty, the horse you tried out on must be used throughout the reigning year. 4. No stallions allowed. 5. Mini-miss and Princess Royalty and contestants will be introduced at the rodeo on July rd and 4 th. You are not to make any other appearances as Lewiston Royalty, unless approved by director. 6. Jr. Queen and Queen Royalty will be required to ride in the Lewiston July 4 th parade and the grand entry for the both rodeos, July rd and July 4 th. You also agree to be available for any other events as requested during the Lewiston celebration.. Jr. Queen and Queen are required to make appearances are the Cache County Fair and Rodeo and Preston Night Rodeo & Parade. Riding in other parades and rodeo s is encouraged but not required. All appearances should be coordinated as a group, and you should all ride together.. If chosen to be in the Lewiston July 4 th Rodeo Royalty, you agree not to compete for any other titles that will conflict with the required appearances. 9. Late entries will only be accepted if there are less than contestants in the age group.

If competing for Mini-Miss and Princess: I will be available for the Lewiston celebration, and not ride at any other events without first obtaining permission from the chairman. 2. If competing in the Jr. Queen and Queen categories: I will be available for the Lewiston, Preston, and Cache County celebrations.. I will represent in full western attire (long sleeved shirt, jeans or skirt, hat, boots & belt) at all events unless otherwise discussed. 4. I will ride the same horse during my reign as I competed on. 5. I have never been married, or pregnant. 6. I am of good moral character and have not engaged in any act which, if made public, would be reasonably likely to cause harm or damage to my reputation or to the good will and reputation of the Lewiston 4 th of July Rodeo and Celebration.. I will conduct myself in a professional manner and adhere to all rules given to me by queen contest chair and Lewiston City.. I understand that the crown and parade banners will be returned at the end of the year, and if they are lost or ruined I will be responsible for the replacement cost. Mini-Miss Age 5 and under Parents may lead contestant through any or all of the maneuvers. Safety is our first priority, even if your daughter can control her horse at home please strongly consider leading your daughter through the pattern. 4, 5 6 Cone Judges 1. Walk to 1 st cone 2. Stop and wait for the Judges. Walk, Trot, or Lope to 2 nd cone 4. Stop 5. Back 5 steps and settle horse 6. Turn and walk to Judges. Wave to grandstands after leaving judges upon exit Cone 1,2 The appearance of person leading contestant will not be judged, however they should be in appropriate attire which includes long sleeve shirt, jeans, and cowboy boots. A cowboy hat is optional. ****IF there are more than 10 contestants entered in the mini-miss category we may hold a lead-line type class instead of having each contestant complete an individual pattern. If that change is made it will be posted to the facebook page, and an e-mail will be sent out by the evening of June 1 st.**** Princess 6-1. Walk to center of arena 2. Starting on the right lead complete a circle to the right. Change leads at center of arena complete circle to the left 4. Stop at center of arena 5. Back 6. Walk horse to judges (no dismount). Talk to judges. Ride forward and complete presentation ride, stopping at the gate and exit. 4, 5 2 6 1
Jr. Queen Age 9-1 1. Trot to center of arena 2. Starting on the right lead complete a circle to the right. Change leads at center of arena complete circle to the left 4. Stop at center of arena, back 5. One spin in either direction 6. One spin in opposite direction. Complete a presentation ride.. Dismount, lead horse to judges for questions. 9. Leading horse, exit to gate at a trot. DO NOT PAUSE AT GATE 5,6 4 Queen Age 14-2 1. Mount horse 2. Trot to center of arena. Starting on the right lead complete large fast circle, followed by a slow small circle. 4. Change leads and complete a large fast circle on the left lead followed by a slow small circle. 5. Stop in center of arena. 6. Two spins in either direction. Two spins in opposite direction. Trot to end of arena 9. Complete run down and rollback to right 10. Complete run down and rollback to left 11. Lope to center of arena. Stop and back 12. Ride forward toward grandstand complete presentation ride. 1. Stop, Dismount, lead horse to judges 14.
