Using pedal power, this out and back route towards Barber Motorsports Park is achievable for riders of all levels. So don t be intimidated by names like Speedway or Cemetery Hill as you cover the miles on this fun track that won t kill you! #vintage #becauseyoucan #iridefor CEMETERY HILL HIGHLIGHTED STOP Woodlawn Cycle Café (Opens at 8:00AM) The brunch crawl riders shouldn t be the only ones who get to enjoy this great spot. So whether you are feeling hot or cold, make a quick pit stop for a cold brew or hot cup of joe on your return journey; you re almost home! HIGHLIGHTED CLIMB Cemetery Hill You might worry that a climb named Cemetery Hill would suck the life right out of you and truth be told, the longest climb of the day just might. But it s probably worth remembering that this is the same hill you enjoyed screaming down on your outward leg of the ride. Now you get the chance to scream again, only it s not from your speed. The good news is, we are pretty much done with climbing for the day. The bad news is, if you check into the Ridout s Forest Crest Cemetery, you may never check out!

Strava Segments: 8 Feed Stations: 3 JOHN HENRY S BANE ABOUT THE ROUTE - 64 MILES You won t be racing a steam drill but I ll be John Henry d if you won t be a steel-driving man as your legs conquer this route. Passing over and by Coosa Mountain and Oak Mountain Tunnels, you might want to recall that legend has this area as one of the sites that John Henry raced the steam-powered hammer. So as you hammer your way along this course, how hard will you go? #legend #becauseyoucan #iridefor HIGHLIGHTED STOP UAB Medical Clinic - Leeds (2x s) With all the usual assortment of rest stop fuel (drinks, nuts, fruit, etc.) you ll also have a surprise available to you as a food truck will be catering treats to all riders no matter if you are coming or going! HIGHLIGHTED CLIMB Double Oak - Coosa Mountain DOUBLE OAK With a long steady grade of 5% over the course of a robust 1.8 miles of climbing, there is more to this hill than the 481 feet of elevation you are going to gain. With a beautiful alpine-style switchback near the top, the moderate grade climb is not terribly bad and allows you to find a comfortable rhythm. So do you just relax, keep your breathing in check, and grind? Or do you try to KOM? After all, you have a nice descent on the backside to catch your breath.

And while you might want to go to grandmother s house instead, your legs know the way to ride your bike through the hills and over the lake. From city riding to country cruising, you ll cover a wide variety of terrain as this route takes you out and around Lake Logan Martin and over the hills back home. #youknowtheway #becauseyoucan #iridefor WATER TOWER HILL HIGHLIGHTED STOP Vandiver Park Let s call this stop the energy station, because let s face it, you need it. If you need your electronic device charged, we re your huckleberry. And if you need your body recharged, well, we ve got that to. From Protein Bars, to Gu shots and gels, and of course, pickle juice, we re going to make sure you are stocked up with items you can carry and maybe a few extra treats to handle all your cravings. HIGHLIGHTED CLIMB Water Tower Hill If you feel like you are at the halfway point, well, that s because you are. The last 30 miles have been fairly mellow, but Water Tower Hill, the shortest of our featured climbs, is certainly not! Coming in with the steepest grade of 14.5%, don t be fooled by the length of this short climb or forget where you are in the ride only halfway. Remember, you ve been Over the Lake but you still have to go Through the Hills.
