The location, as before will be at the GEORGIA FAIRGROUNDS & AGRICENTER in Perry, Georgia. This is a two go rodeo. The rodeo is in Reeves Arena which is an enclosed climate controlled building. TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FRIDAY SATURDAY FIRST GO 5:00 pm RODEO PRODUCTION MEETING 7:00 PM PERFORMANCE SLACK AFTER PERFORMANCE (Barrels and Poles Only) 7:00 AM SLACK 2:00 PM PERFORMANCE SECOND GO SATURDAY SUNDAY 7:00 PM PERFORMANCE SLACK AFTER PERFORMANCE (Barrels and Poles Only) 7:00 AM SLACK 12:30 PM CHURCH SERVICES AT ARENA 1:30 PM PERFORMANCE WITH AWARDS AFTER CALL IN - You should have your call-in early enough that you will be able to fax, e-mail or send your contestant entries to our Rodeo Secretary, Leisa Haslerig, no later than Thursday, October 13, 2016.

SOUTHEASTERN SHOWDOWN PAGE 2 We will fill slots in performance before any slack will be available. Each State will have 2 holes available in each event for the performance times for each go round. There are 2 performances in each go. All other entries must be put in slack. Each State will have 10 holes for barrels and 10 holes for poles in the Saturday morning and Sunday morning slacks. All other entries for barrels and poles must be put in the Friday night and Saturday night slack. Positions will be drawn and posted on www.ghsra.com by October 29 th. The draw will NOT be reversed for the second go. ENTRY FEES - Fees for each event will be $40.00. This covers both goes. $10.00 of the $40.00 will be placed in a jackpot. Jackpot will be split and paid on each round. Awards will be given on the average. There is a $10.00 grounds fee for each contestant entered. Example: Entered in 1 event for the weekend. 1 st go entry fee (tie down) 15.00 2 nd go entry fee (tie down) 15.00 TOTAL 40.00 Grounds fee for weekend 10.00 TOTAL OWED 50.00 Example: Entered in 3 events for the weekend 1 st go entry fee (goats) 15.00 1 st go entry fee (barrels) 15.00 1 st go entry fee (poles) 15.00 2 nd go entry fee (goats) 15.00 2 nd go entry fee (barrels) 15.00 2 nd go entry fee (poles) 15.00 TOTAL 120.00 Grounds fee for weekend 10.00 TOTAL OWED 130.00 T-SHIRTS - Each state is asked to send a list of contestants in ABC order (by last name) for the T-Shirts, preferably by e-mail in an excel format, to Leisa Haslerig no later than October 10 TH. There will not be a vendor on site selling shirts. They will be preordered and there is a form at the end of this newsletter that you will need to fill out and mail in. This form must be received (NOT POST MARKED) no later than Monday, October 17, 2016. ORDER OF EVENTS Bareback, Goat Tying, Saddle Bronc, Tie-Down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Pole Bending and Bull Riding. **Depending on the amount of entries in Bareback and Saddle Bronc these 2 events may be run at the same time with Goat Tying to follow. There will be no slack in Bareback or Saddle Bronc.

SOUTHEASTERN SHOWDOWN PAGE 3 CHURCH SERVICE There will be a church service held on Sunday, 12:30pm at the arena GRAND ENTRY We will have a grand entry at all performances. The themes for the grand entries will be posted on the GHSRA website. Please bring something appropriate for these grand entries. Sponsor Flags, Queens, and States will be presented at each Grand Entry. NO air horns are allowed in Reeves Arena. SHOWDOWN - SHOWDOWN The Showdown Showdown will be held immediately after the 2pm rodeo performance on Saturday afternoon. Each State will have 10 minutes to showcase their State s talents. The lights must remain on and no pyrotecnics. $250.00 will be awarded to the winning State. SPECIAL GROUND RULES 1. Thirty (30) second time limits will be in effect for all times events. 2. In all roping events, the one loop rule will be in effect. 3. Western attire is required for contestants at all times in Reeves Arena along with your back number. AWARDS Will be given to the average winners and All Around Cowboy and All Around Cowgirl. In case of a tie, awards will be duplicated for winners. Reserve champion ties will be broken by a flip of a coin. JACKPOT Jackpot will be paid on each go. The money for the first go will be ready to pick up 1 hour after the 1 st go is completed. The money for the second go will be ready to pick up within 30 minutes of the event completing. If you are not going to be present on Sunday afternoon we can mail your money to you or send it via your State designee. ADMISSION Contestants are free with back number. Advance weekend admission armbands can be purchased on the pre order form attached for $15.00. Armbands purchased in advance will be available for pick up at the arena entry door from the barns during each performance. Children 12 and under admitted free. Admission at the door will be $8.00 per day. Each State will receive 5 rodeo personnel passes. Advance purchase must be received no later than October 25, 2016. HORSE STALLS There are over 600 covered horse stalls. Shavings are NOT provided. Shavings are for sale at the Fairgrounds or you may bring your own. EACH CONTESTANT MUST PUT THEIR HORSE OR HORSES IN A STALL WITH ONLY ONE HORSE PER STALL. NO HORSES CAN BE TIED TO TRAILERS AND NO PENS CAN BE SET UP AT TRAILERS. THIS IS AN AGRICENTER RULE. The cost is $40.00 per stall for the weekend in advance and needs to be pre ordered on the form attached. We will assign stalls according to the reservations. Stalls will be $65.00 at the rodeo. Stall fees will not be refunded without a Vet or medical excuse. Stall reservations must be received no later than October 25, 2016. RV HOOK-UPS There is plenty of campsites with full hook-up. Arrange for any campsites directly with the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter to make your reservations. Your reservation can be made by calling 1-478-988-6557 or through their website, www.gnfa.com. Cost is $25.00 per night. No generators. Please advise your contestant s and their families that they will not be permitted admittance to the fairgrounds before 12:00 noon. Friday, November 4th. The Agricenter has a security gate with personnel on duty 24 hours. In an emergency you can call 1-478-988-6557. They are there only for assistance and have no connections with the rodeo.

SOUTHEASTERN SHOWDOWN PAGE 4 CHRISTMAS TOYS Toys will again be collected, this year for the Perry Volunteer Outreach. Christmas will be right around the corner and we can make a difference to a child who would not perhaps otherwise have a present on Christmas morning. Toys will be collected and displayed at the arena entrance; if you can help it will be appreciated. HORSE HEALTH PAPERS Be sure you have a NEGATIVE COGGINS on your horse. Also, check with your state regarding health papers required when crossing state lines, to and from the rodeo. DIRECTIONS TO RODEO Take I-75 to exit 135, Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, Perry, Georgia. Go east on Larry Walker Parkway, approximately 1 mile to the EAST GATE and proceed to the security gate.
