Dear Parents of Performing Arts students, As you may be aware our annual performance evening is fast approaching. The students have been working hard and are looking forward to showing you what we have been preparing since the start of Term 1. This year we have the privilege of putting on an original production written by two of our Year 8 students, Jemimah Rankcom and Britney Bailey. The purpose of this notice is to update you on some changes to dates, and collect your feedback on what would suit your family. Performance Date: Our original performance date of August 29 has unfortunately had to change, and we would love to choose a date that all our students can be part of, out of the following 3 options: Wednesday August 12 at 7.30pm Friday August 14 at 7.30pm Saturday August 15 at 7.30pm Rehearsal Date: Because we have had to move the performance date forward we are concerned that we may need additional rehearsal times outside of our normal 2 periods on Wednesdays. After discussion with our Coordinators the option to run an extra rehearsal day during the last week of the school holidays has been approved. We will be rehearsing on Thursday July 16 in the MS Drama Room and when possible from 9-3pm. We will provide lunch for the students if they can please bring their own snacks. God- willing this full day of uninterrupted rehearsal should be sufficient time to rehearse. However, if needed we can do a Friday July 17 rehearsal from 9-3pm if.
A brief online survey has been created for you to identify your child s availability for both the performances and the rehearsal day. Please check your diaries and complete the survey via the following link at your earliest convenience (it should take about one minute of your time) https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/36pgkq3 or alternatively email me at ahummerston@mecs.vic.edu.au to pass on the information. Thank you for your support and encouragement of Performing Arts and we look forward to seeing you at our performance evening in August. More information regarding the performance evening and tickets will be confirmed early in Term 3. For your information I have included our Rehearsal Schedule for the remainder of Term 2 & 3 and also our Costume List for the cast. Yours in Christ, Annora Annora Hummerston MS Music Teacher
